This guy sure is nice-looking and amiable. He carrying a lot of sad things with himself ( damage of war actions, problematic of being pacifist ) and The Golden Lagoon was a pretty heavy and scary episode. His dead-inside " We won..." and mocking heroic music in the finale is alone one of the greatest scenes of the G1 cartoon... ...But at the same time, he can be a pretty funny character with wacky elements. Like, his brief stunt as a Disney princess. Or some groovy phases. And with his recent Skybound role it's even better : so, they say that during the entire history of humanity there was a robo-hippie just staring at Earth from the Moon ? Whaaat... Beachcomber actually has this dualism with both serious and not-so-serious sides. It's make him more complex Autobot Thank for your work ❤❤❤

As a whole, with the acception of his altmode, Beatchcomber was never my favorite. But like with any group of characters, for every soldier or a warrior, you may get a pacifist or "brain over brawn" type, to balance the things out. As for his other figures, from what I remember, besides your picks, Beatchcomber also got a repaint in Energon and RotF from their avaiable Dune cars. So, if anything, you have a dicent pool of options to pick from (especially with his new Legacy mold).

You're very right about the colour. My favourite is easily the pink as well. Also, the face looks a bit... weird, doesn't it? Seems like he's missing some chromosomes. The sculpt for the clothes is nice though and D4C is just *mwah*. Great video

@@HerohammerStudios oh i didnt really bring it up, but the Valentine figure i have is the first run Wonderfest release, and for some reason from 2018-2020 the paint mapping was all off on WF figures resulting in odd faces. The standard retail release looks better. D4C is a fantastic figure without a doubt. There was going to be a green and purple release of D4C, but just like the Purple Valentine it was banished at some point.

" Hey, Mindwipe, I'm your partner and I'm a scientist, so I don't like your voodoo slag and stuff..." " Hahah...** hypnotizes poor guy **...transform into my head and shut up, you dummy..." That scene of the first interaction between Mindwipe and Vorath from Rebirth is kinda always creepy to me. Like, Mindwipe can just force his Nebulan to serve himself and Vorath is helpless to do anything about this. Spooky... Mindwipe got lucky to get into the main Decepticon cast in Headmasters anime, it's the reason why I was able to remember him so well, heh. And, holy crap, i watched this show so long ago that somehow even forgot that he...blown up entire Cybertron to kingdome core ( !!! )...harsh His G1 toy is indeed a nice chunky bat. I know you weren't that impressed with the cardboard standee of the barkeep, but in my opinion, it was a pretty good idea on Kenner's part. I mean, what kid is going to beg his parents for a barkeep action figure, when they could get a gun-slingin' outlaw or tough-as-nails lawman as a gift for birthdays or Christmas? By including the barkeep, kids get an important, but not necessarily "fun", part of the traditional Wild West bar scene. But that's just my opinion, of course. Excellent video! I love Westerns as well and would love to add this piece to my toy collection!

It was the movie that might’ve been shown on TV. I know I saw I’ve seen it several times. It’s not a bad movie and I had to Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid, action figures and their horses and I had the Zorro from the Zorro cartoon, they all came out around the same time
@richardlee212022 күн бұрын
Mego just came up short on their ST: TMP figure line. No weapons, no vehicles, a terrible vacuform playset, low quality, and a slow movie that wasn't too toyetic. So much potential wasted there. Playmates did a far better job by contrast, but even Playmates missed opportunities to make more playsets and vehicles from the classic series and motion pictures.
@richardlee212022 күн бұрын
"Butch and Sundance: The Early Days" was a theatrical release. It was a prequel to the Robert Redford and Paul Newman film. William Katt played Sundance, and ironically, he auditioned for Luke Skywalker. His action figure for the "Butch and Sundance" toy line was molded after a Luke figure. The spring loaded gun draw action feature was later reused three years later for the Kenner Indiana Jones line. Kenner set the standard for the 3.75 scale so every company from Mego, Mattel, and Gabriel copied the scale. Yes, this Real West Cafe is rarer than a vinyl caped Jawa. I have two vinyl cape Jawas, and never seen a Real West Cafe in the wild. All western 3.75 action figures from Butch and Sundance, Zorro, and the 1981 film "The Legend of the Lone Ranger" including the cardboard western town are ultra rare and command prices that rival anything in the Kenner Star Wars toy line.

Lore wise, I'm not gonna lie, this is preaty neat. Especially the desighn of the head. Besides that, Doc Who fan or not (with me in the "not" category ) the figure is worth getting for any egyptian location, or adventure. At least as a standing ominess figure.

@shep180727 күн бұрын
I wanted that line so bad as a kid especially when the Lone Ranger 1980 movie figures. So funny that it was a repurposed Star Wars Cantina playset but not surprising since Kenner was the king of reusing their molds/pieces. Also that figure line, including the horse was used to make the Raiders of the Lost Ark toyline.

The early concept for IG-88 also looks eerily similar to the evil maroon colored robot, Maximillian in Disney’s ’The Black Hole’ . Ralph McQuarrie originally designed IG-88 and then Bill Hargreaves built the character from salvaged material like jet engine parts. IG-88 is literally bolted to the deck of the Star destroyer. Unfortunately after the scene, many of the original pieces were repurposed and scrapped. He was also seen in the scrap room near the pile of C-3PO.
@PdxToycollectiveАй бұрын
The other crazy part about the Bounty Hunter line up is the fact IG-88 is massively tall! In behind the scenes photos, not only is he placed farther in the background than the other characters, he's also below them as the background was on a slightly lower level!

Now this IS a blast from the past. Ten-year-old me had one of these “G.I.Joes with lifelike hair”. It was truth in advertising, as he started going BALD after a year or so! I never got these “adventure packs”…but I DID get a few extra (and unlicensed) UNIFORM packs from the local drug store. As you said, the public's anti war sentiment in the early ‘70s turned Hasbro’s “Joe” into a generic adventurer…but dressing him in these unlicensed-and-unauthorized uniforms (probably from Hong Kong) turned him back into a SOLDIER!
