A Slightly Shambolic Shuffle Around the 2021 Festival of the Unexceptional: Part Two of Six - • A Slightly Shambolic S...
The Slightly Shambolic Shuffles are back! This time we are at the 2021 Festival of the Unexceptional at Grimsthorpe Castle in Lincolnshire. In this first part, we start on a massive journey to film every single car in the Unexceptional Parking and Concours De l'Ordinaire.
Be prepared for a lovely Granada, two very nice Toyotas, a Mazda Xedos 6, lots of Peugeot 205s and really not much of any interest at all. Nothing untoward, then!
As an independent vehicle consultant, I take potential buyers through the whole car buying process from choosing a make and model to a vehicle handover and road tax. In addition to information on this service, I also have a selection of written and video reviews of cars that I have owned, hired, borrowed or have somehow come into my possession. Please use the Contact Me page on my website to get in touch, visit my Facebook page for latest updates and share this video if you like it! Thank you for watching.

It was my first Festival of the Unexceptional & what a great day it was. As a big KZfaq watcher it was interesting to see a lot of the folks I subscribe to wandering around doing their thing. I was going to ask you to quickly review my tweed jacket as a bit of a twist on a theme but you were on a mission when I spotted you near a Daihatsu Applause. Highlight of the day was chatting to Mr Coleman about his Granada. It must be about the straightest one I've seen & he seemed a genuinely nice guy. He had it all sorted on his comfy chair watching the people stroll by & was happy to chat. I'll watch the other 5 instalments as they appear. Good work, sir.

Yes, the Granada has been in his family since new. It is one of the best in the country of its type. I did indeed get distracted by the Daihatsu Applause, that will be coming up in one of the future parts. I was indeed on the way to film more of the show, I think reviewing an actual Tweed Jacket may have been a bit too much of a stretch yesterday, sadly! Thank you for stopping by to say hello, sir....

Mr Lloyd, great to see you there and have a catch up. This has to be one of the best car shows I have ever been to, it is entirely my “bag” even though a couple of Porsches and a Rolls Royce managed to gate-crash the party.. My Ford Escort 1.3 did the 250 mile round trip with no issue I am pleased to say. Now that blue Rover 213 VDP was at Gaydon too, and I would buy that car tomorrow at almost any price if I could ever trace the owner..

E28 M5s were massively expensive when new (£31,295 in '86) and worth a mint now. Mk2 Golf GTi 16v weren't cheap new either. Even the Audi 80 was quite above average. Just catching up now Sir, I do apologise. Why, oh why would someone remove those big soft Denim seats from a 1993 Peugeot 205 Junior. Mine was identical Cherry Red 1.1 Injection with catalyst. I loved that car. The 205 was the one small car that drove like a large car. Calibra with leather. I have seen the Calibra black leather and it was quality. Fiat 128 which became the Zastava/Yugo 311 & 511 hatchbacks made in Yugoslavia. The best looking Granada 2.8 Ghia X in the country. The Fiat Tempra was a very comfortable and good handling car but needed to be had in 2.0ie SLX at least spec. Boot was HUGE but rear vision was negligible, all you could see was sky. In actual fact, a dealer demonstrated that if you specified a boot spoiler, all that you had to do was stack three £1 coins on the spoiler and the top coin was visible from the driver's seat. Sierra 1.8 LX and Mondeo LX, both excellent family cars. But absolutely Unexceptional Superstars 1990 Escort Bonus, Allegro 1.1, Maestro Clubman, Mk3 Cavalier Base model and Mk1 Cavalier 1.6 L 2 door. Think I spotted a Fiat Panda across the grass, would have one again tomorrow, 100% reliable.
