Hey everyone! for those of you who may not know me, I'm Alan and I live in NY (not NYC) I love tractors (including working on them) and I wanted to show some of my collection and some of the goodies I have come across over the years! After using a newer model John deer mower , I wondered whythahell do people like this over priced junk ?? THEN I found a 1982 214 … for $50 bucks !! Love it ! What a great, tough, realdealsteel machine ! It was my friends fathers mower , he bought brand new , he took great care of it , I was honored to be able to save it .

I need those tins off of that 212 @1:26 for a 216 I got for free w a good motor I think… haven’t tried to start it yet cuz I’ve got a used Yanmar dsl that needs valve help I might drop in it, but it’s needs engine mounts, cuz the rear ones are broken, & the motor is sagging. My now dsl 212 needs engine mounts, but I might do both when my 212 finally breaks em bad enough on the front. The good news is that the L70 dsl weighs like 85lbs/way lighter than the old boat anchor that was the K301. The dsl has better power, uses less fuel, & it’s simpler. No gas, no carb, no Ethonol, no spark plugs!

Yeah, same. I’m in Texas & people want way too much for this old shit. Down here either they want too much, or it’s a hydro that’s beat to shit, or the person selling the tractor wants $ that he would get for parts/$200 for a tractor w a good motor, even tho the res rod the tractor is rusted, & the motor probably is trash. If I get em I just yank the Kohler then either rebuild it or drop in a decent used Yanmar L series pull start motor that used 1/4 of the fuel the Kohler did.

I’d love to get a JD330/430 or a jd455 slap a turbo on it & haul ass. I’m in the process of swapping a Yanmar L70 in my 212 whose motor burns way too much oil, plus I’m tired of points & carburetor. I could put a turbo on my Yanmar l70 & have 2x the stock power, but well the stock torque is insane/my Sears loves the diesel motor.
