THE STEPS (Mostly for myself lol. Might loose track of the number count, mostly taking notes) 1) Body/Nervous system Regulation - When your body shuts down, be it depression, panic attacks, disassociation, ect, its not your body trying to hurt you, its your body telling you to listen. And thats the first step. Breathwork is a great regulation when everything is hitting too hard in the moment. So is body movement and dance. Animals shake off when they're stressed so we should too. Movement releases tension and negative emotions from the body. 2) Self Care Rituals/Routines - For ME, The writer, a big step for me in that regard has been Ayurveda and understanding my dosha. I do really poorly with traditional self care that most people do because I often feel fine or genuinely unbothered about the things people say I should be strict around. Ayurveda has been different for me. I can focus on it, and commit to it, and its been changing my life. Its not just diet. I no longer allow myself to sleep in or doze back off lol and I had no idea that tiny habit was causing me full day depressions due to being exhausted from morning to noon then feeling like my days already gone. 3) Rewrite the story - Go back to the core memories where you've struggled as your adult self, and tell your inner child its okay, youre there for them, ect. Maybe change the nevative interaction. So if you were bullied in school or had no friends, imagine people being kind to your inner child. Everytime you see your inned child theh will be wearing something different. Pay attention to that. It may be a reflection of their mental state, or a reflection of a different memory. 4) Remove/Take Away - Remove your inner child from the negative situation. Then bring her to a 'safe space', whatever that looks like in your head. I try to commit to one often but it doesn't really work. What I deem as the correct safe space in my head changes often. Your inner child can have anything there. She gets to play, and dance, and so do you. 5) View your past as scars, not open wounds. You dont have to lie to yourself and prefend those things never happened, but view them as scars. You still see the experience or lesson it left behind, but its healed, it doesn't hurt, its a closed chapter. 6) Visualize your inner parent remaining in the garden - Often times people would say to the podcast guest that when they returned to their inner child they'd feel abandoned and forgotten. So its important to leave your inner parent there with your inner child. Then when you return you're just there in whatever the current moment is as if you've never left. Personal note: The only thing that throws me off a little here is that if the inner child is with your inner parent in the garden, how is she also in the negative memories when you visit them? Are there two seperate inner children? If thats the case are there two different inner parents? I guess you could just treat it as a factory reset each time, but I feel like I'd be erasing progress and bonding if I did that. I guess you could treat it as a 'inner child got away from you, and now you have to sift through dark memories to find her' kind of deal and you find her each time. Thats probably how I'll do it. I'll probably have seperate inner children for different ages too. In that case I might have seperate inner parents idk. 7 - You have 18 inner children - Pay attention to which ones need you the most and sift through one at a time. 8) When you're channeling inner child writing, with your opposite hand, or how you wrote at that age for authenticity. 9 - Ask or see what the inner child needs, and meet their needs. Where are you insecure in modern life? What do you crave? Figure out where that comes from. 10) Reframe belief systems. What are your Limiting beliefs? Where or who did they come from? Consciously choose your belief systems. Why are you choosing the ones you're choosing? Solidify that. 11) Your body and mind need to be running the same "software" - For me there are parts of my mindsets that are "upgraded", but my body isn't " upgrading" to meet those standards (IE - my mind tells me I'm a healthy eater but my body begs to differ and I'm not putting in 100% of the work I COULD be putting in. Another example is my body tells me I'm confident, but my mind tries to make me feel small, and vice versa. Its like having a ton of apps that need to co exist but they're all upgraded at different levels). Leave behind old childish beliefs, as you are now in an adult body. Upgrade. Note: I just listened to the audio on my first watch. Now im seeing the video and Sahara looks EXHAUSTED, LOL. We all have those days girl. 12) Boundaries and communication - Access your hard lines. Don't let people cross them. * Learn how to communicate these boundaries and deal with them being upset at you over it. 13) What are the wounds in your lineage? How can you heal them? 14) Leave victimhood behind and find empowerment 15) Rebuild your sense of self 16) Love yourself 💖 17) Forgive yourself and others. Id do this in the inner child situations. 18) Connect to your highest self
