Great to see you Ingeborg. Wonderful video! I think that a lot of the history that we know were taught to us. Not the reality of what really happened, but what they wanted us to know. Thanks for doing the tag, It's nice to know more about you. I feel scared most times as a Black woman living in the US. I try to walk early in the morning, but I always wonder if someone's going to decide that I don't belong in the neighborhood, but I'm even more scared of all the people who walk around without wearing masks. That's why stitching, sewing and Zooming with friends helps me to feel safe and sane. I love your Christmas baskets piece. I have it and need to pull it out and start it. Hi Kaylin, thanks for sharing. I can understand why you'd feel like that, and it makes me sad you have to face anxiety on top of anxiety. I"m very hopeful thing will improve as long as we all keep actively addressing racism and fighting for equal rights for all. And wear a mask :) I'm glad we both have our hobby and zoom to keep us sane.

A fabulous video in a sobering time. Thank you -for all of it. I was headed to view your latest video just so I could leave the following post. I want to thank you for the segment Dutch Facts (which I was going to say please resurrect but YOU DID!). It was because I paid close attention to the Dutch treat of bread and butter covered in chocolate sprinkles that I got the geographical reference in a scene from Killing Eve. Fantastic series btw. And I won't spoil anything by saying one of the main characters travels for work and in the series they show the name of the city in gigantic letters at the start of the scene. I was stitching and missed one. When I looked up and saw her seated in a pub holding a slice of bread with a mountain of chocolate sprinkles spilling everywhere - I knew where she was!

Thank you Ingeborg for your thoughtful discussion of the very serious problems we are all facing around the world. I, too, am terrified of our upcoming US elections and can only hope that sanity will prevail. Signs are more promising now than in the pre-pandemic days. Definitely tough times we are living in. Thoroughly enjoyed your video. If you manage to get to the UK next year and time and location allows, it would be lovely to have the chance to meet for a coffee. I met you for the first time last December at Dutchmaynia. I also stay at home (as far is possible) I'am very careful but also surprised of others behaviour sometimes. I live in Amsterdam and i experienced , going outside, as very stressful. We are lucky to have our hobby's and nice cross-stitch-vlogs😊 thank you👋

@@AStitchTooFar I found it very helpful; I liked that it wasn't a book that told you what you should do, it was more what you COULD do in different situations and she used a lot of her own personal examples of growth and realization which made me connect to her as a reader.

Aloha Ingeborg. Enjoyed what you are stitching. . . I have similar tastes in subjects including animals (I bought the Ross Originals) and in designers including the Drawn Thread. As for the social issues, I agree there are indications of fascism here in the U.S. but I am hopeful that the instigator will be gone after our next election. I am also hopeful that the BLM protests and actions will bring significant and real change.

Good video today! I'm glad things are going fairly well in the Netherlands where COVID is concerned. Things are not going so well where I live. I have Ms. Albright's book on order and I'm looking forward to reading it. I pray for better days. Hope to see you soon. Your stitching is beautiful. I have soooooo many thngs I want to start but I will not let myself start until my Christmas in July is done, or almost done. A little self control will be good for me, right?

It’s truly terrifying what is happening in my country- and I don’t find it comforting that people all over the world are watching and also very worried about it. A few years ago I could never have imagined we would be where we are with Trump. It was so good to see you again.

De blauwvoetgent, die heb ik voorbij zien komen op de vakantiefoto's van mijn schoonzussen. Later heeft mijn jongste dankbaar gebruik gemaakt van die foto's bij zijn werkstuk over de Galapagos Eilanden. Om die reden sprak het patroon mij wel aan. No way dat ik de Duchess of Rouen voor de grap zou borduren. Dat zou me veel te veel borduurtijd kosten. En ik zou de grap steeds uit moeten leggen want niet iedereen ziet wat wij niet niet kunnen zien. 😅 Ik wist dat wij met name in Afrika en Zuid- en Midden Amerika meer slavenhandel hadden (ik praat maar even over handel maar dat dekt niet helemaal de lading), maar van bv. Japan en het Midden Oosten dacht ik alleen aan handelsposten (waarbij er zeker misbruik is gemaakt van de lokale bevolking). Fijne vakantie gewenst! Ik hoop dat je toch wat leuke dingen kunt ondernemen. Groetjes, Evelien

Haha stel je voor dat je die grap steeds moet uitleggen :D Klopt wat je zegt over de kaart, dat had ik moeten uitleggen. De rode/oranje punten waren handelsnederzettingen de groen waren kolonien. Ik ben me langzaam aan het verdiepen in die oranje punten en wat dat nu echt inhield. Wat ik echt niet wist is de hoeveelheid posten in midden oosten en azie en de hoeveelheid eiland kolonien in de cariben. xx
