A trip out to the Cheviots around Hethpool,
I took a route straight up the side of Hare law,
Arriving first at Easter tor, then up to Newton tors before going over to Hare law for my Bivy,
I had my Bivy on the edge of a rock outcrop and I was able to watch the sky after the sunset from my Bivy.
All in it was a perfect dry night.

Definitely can't beat a bivy 👊 I want to get one of those nets, an absolutely great addition for the summer months. I used a trangia for the first time ever last week. I enjoyable it overall, it was quite a humble and relaxing way to cook. But saying that it did take forever so I dont think ill use it too often. Take it easy on them hills mate, and have as many rest stops as you need to keep that heart rate down. Don't want you leaving us anytime soon. Great camp as always mate. That pitch and sunset was just glorious. And thats why tents are inferior to a bivy. 👍👊👌
@northumberlandmountainhopper
@northumberlandmountainhopper Жыл бұрын
Hi Gez, yes bivy’s are the business, what more to say, part of the hills almost in a bivy. Trangia is painfully slow, I have to fill it twice if cooking so not as much use as a gas canister, just relaxing. Cheers Adrian

Had a magical evening on Bosely Cloud, below the summit by a quarry in a sleeping on a couple of mats. The best mate a man could have died in the morning, and i did what I told him I'd with the equipment he bought me to do it with, and the sun absolutely blazing in the sky above Liverpool punched a hole through my grief with it's beauty. My 3x3m tarp is way too huge for me to manage, using a tarp is a bit harder than KZfaq would suggest. I'm definitely getting a smaller tarp but a bigger bivvy. Another excellent video.
@northumberlandmountainhopper

Hi and thanks for watching, a 3x3 tarp is a hand full on a summit for sure, I only use a 2.8x1.5 on the hills It’s a love it or hate it thing with a tarp and bivy, all I can say is I can always find a quite pitch for my bivy so I love it, ps practice makes perfect!!! Cheers

Sensational views and peace and quiet. The Cheviots are so special. I read an article in the Northumberland gazette this week saying the council want to encourage more tourists into the hillls. It would be a shame if it got busier up there. I'm just being selfish really. Thank you for sharing this great trip.

Hi and thanks for coming along again, yes I saw the article about the tourists, but they will come once and not return as our North East wind will scare them from coming back lol mind I stayed up here wind or no wind 22 years now, I think the Cheviots will remain quiet as on my camps I am normally the only car and camper about. What as spot to find for your overnight, lovely, lovely, lovely...just what I needed to watch after the week I have had. Longing for the day when I can get out and bivy again - albeit not in such beautiful hills, but at least on the coast among the sand-dunes and some flat (very) forest land. Wonderful video. 😁
