I headed to a new area to hopefully get a view and a bivy spot,
I got the views, but had left it too late to find a spot suitable for the tarp, due to the wind, so I just tucked in by some rocks on the side of the hill.

Lovely spot for a camp. When you are in those types of locations under or in amongst rocks with limited pegging points, have you thought about using rock climbing clips that push into rock cracks and then use those anchor points to tie off tarp ropes too ?

Hi and thanks for watching, Glad you enjoyed it, It’s a good thought, especially the cam type expansion type, but it’s all weight, I may look into it, now you have said, interesting, thank you, On my last Border wall camp, I used tent pegs pushed into the stone wall, so it certainly works. Cheers

Just a wee suggestion for you, I know it's a bit of extra weight but if you carried an entrenching shovel you could de-turf some soil and level off the rocks below the overhang and pull your bivi in, and you wouldn't need the tarp. Nice spot, I have used similar spots hard to beat!

Hi and thanks for watching, for exploring new areas, the shovel would work as I could have moved two rocks, I might look into it, only a couple of miles so if it made pitching easy, would have to use it only when really reqd as don’t like leaving traces, watch this space, Cheers
