When Classical Chess returns it is going to be quite wild. So many new ideas are being used in these blitz games...

Its cause you don't have time to think in blitz
@zarajax
@zarajax 4 жыл бұрын
I would think that they are being used precisely because it's a rapid game, naturally players are playing with more intuition and less calculation. I believe classical will remain a little dull as players usually avoid these tactics with more time on the clock.
@panda4247
@panda4247 4 жыл бұрын
The shorter the time format, the easier is to throw your opponent off guard with unfamiliar line. The same line might no longer work if you opponent has 20minutes to think about it. In classic, the openings are blitzed out memorized theory, endgames are OK when time-control is reached, so you basically have ~80 minutes for the ~15-20 moves of middle game. I believe Duda would not go for Na4 of the subsequent Rb2, had he more time to calculate. So I believe many of these lines will not be played in classical, because they do no yield anything in the long run. But it great to see these games now :)
@myrusEW
@myrusEW 4 жыл бұрын
Uh. What? Blitz is wild and new because of the time constraint. You don’t have the time to analyze a new move 6 moves out. Classical chess will remain pretty much the same for a long time until a computer invents a new opening that a human can replicate.

Yes, and then Carlsen and Caruana will punish everyone who uses the new ideas, lol. Jk, everyone will be ready when the classical returns

Hey Agad, I'd just like to say a super thank you for saving my life!!......that may seem like an exaggaration, but I stumbled upon your videos in a really dark time in my life. Then I started playing chess and it really helped me get my life straight and organized, to think before I act (Kasparov - how life imitates chess). Chess gave me a chance to rediscover my life. Thank you!

@AkumaAPN
@AkumaAPN 4 жыл бұрын
For those of you who are interested in some deep Stockfish evaluations, I've found a way to paint Nakamura's Brilliancy in a slightly different light. It's not just a Tactical Brilliancy; it is the Ultimate Poisoned Piece. , After 60+ hours of endless evaluation, Stockfish 11 has confirmed that black's Bishop to b5 was a blunder, with the move itself being evaluated at -M30. After Nakamura responded with the Brilliant Poisoned Piece, it doesn't really matter whether or not black accepts the sacrifice. Accepting it is evaluated at -M22, so it is definitely an inaccuracy. The most accurate moves decline white's sacrifice, but all alternatives there are evaluated at -M29 or worse. , For a long time, Stockfish was recommending that instead of playing black's Bishop to b5 "Blunder", black should instead retreat with the Bishop to d7. However, after 40 hours of evaluation, Stockfish also found that this alternative is evaluated at -M30, the same as the "blunder." So, now I'm in the process of trying to find out what else black could possibly have done to salvage the position after white's pawn captured pawn at d5 to threaten black's bishop on c6. , To put things in perspective, the position was already evaluated heavily in white's favor, at +17 or better, ever since the white knight delivered check on the previous move. So even if there is a way out of this trap for black, the best case scenario would be to continue playing at a serious disadvantage, and it would have been only a matter of time before Nakamura broke through. However, black accelerated things by wading into this invisible trap!
@AkumaAPN
@AkumaAPN 4 жыл бұрын
@@suiba_7 Well, after an additional 120 hours of evaluation, Stockfish has assigned a general value of -75 for black during this portion of the game, with basically all options eventually leading to something around -M30 or worse. It appears that things began to decline rapidly for black when Duda decided to do the "rook lift" to the 2nd rank to threaten white's bishop. Perhaps it was more important for black to remain on the defensive at this time, as there were clearly no good attacks present for black. But there was definitely a problem with the position before that. While white's pieces were converging towards the black king, black's pieces were all over the board, unable to coordinate, and there was no clear attack plan with which to proceed. , It's a fascinating position in the 6 or 7 moves leading up to Nakamura's pawn attacks in the center.
@AkumaAPN
@AkumaAPN 4 жыл бұрын
After 12 hours of additional evaluation, Stockfish found that while black still had his doubled rooks, the position was dead even. The first mistake was black's knight to a4, allowing white to trade off a rook, while having the knight on a very bad square, away from all the action -- most especially, away from keeping an eye on the all-important d5 square. , The key to the position is d5. Once black moved the knight away, and allowed the trading, he also allowed Nakamura to push his pawn to d5. After that first push to d5, the position is generally evaluated at -3.50 for black. But that immediately dropped to -12 with the "rook lift" to b2, a disastrous move. Black followed this blunder up with another blunder, trading pawns at d5 to weaken the center, which leads directly into the mating net. After white recaptures on d5, three of Stockfish's top recommendations are all within the mating sequence: Bc6-b5 is mate in 30; Bc6-d7 is mate in 30; g6-g5 is mate in 31, with all other options at least -75, indicating that the position is completely blown out. , Black needed to keep the Knight on b6, and focus on the center. Stockfish says Bc6xe4 keeps the evaluation dead even. It's amazing how a few bad moves in a row turns the tables so completely.

After Bc4 Bxc4, Re8 Rb7, how can white continue the attack? I could not find a way, so I discarded Bc4. I then found Ne8 instead of Bc4. Let's see: Ne8 Bxe8, Re7 and the black queen has to remain in the a1-h8 diagonal because thw white queen would check on f6 if not. So if Qc3, then Ne5 interrupt the diagonal and mate follows soon

I didn't even consider h5 as a defensive resource or any of the following lines you showed, which I'm sure Nakamura saw, plus just about everything that followed in the actual game. I just saw the overall idea of removing the defender Bc4 to play Re8. Crazy stuff! I'm rated about 1700-1800 on lichess and my tactical rating on chess.com is about 2300 (I like their puzzles bette haha). Wunknown - on Lichess if anyone wants to play!
