I shot ALPINE during a family vacation to Washington, but the first leg of that trip ended up being Colorado due to a flight delay, so we took an afternoon drive through Rocky Mountain National Park. I'd never experienced anything like it before, and it's an experience I won't forget. This quick little vlogumentary ranges from the snowy mountaintop scenic drives down to the meadows with grazing elk, and explores some of the forces of nature that helped shape this park.
Rocky Mountain National Park is about 1.5 hours from Denver, Colorado, where the Great Plains give way to the front range of the Rockies and the essence of the Mountain West. Across crystal lakes and glacier-cut mountain peaks marking the Continental Divide, the park experiences a variety of weather extremes, from world-famous fall foliage to debilitating blizzards and raging wildfires. Creatures like elk and black bears find a haven in the grassy meadows along creeks of trickling meltwater.
***I have ideas for a "behind the scenes" style video for the Washington trip like this, but since I'm in school it may not be realized for a while.
