How has the bag faire over the years ? I love the security features and the laptop sleeve. But some reviews pointed out that the polyster wouldnt do as well vs nylon. Otherwise I'm looking at the rei ruck 40. But it's a poor laptop sleeve

It is definiety one of the bags I am not afraid of "tossing arround" meaning that it feels natural to travel with it various situations without caring about scofs and marks. The colour has really grown on me given how it sort of hides most of the potential marks. Only the skratches on the top lid as you can see in the review as well as some wear on the logo are the only visible signs of this bag not beeing new. Compred to the rei ruck 40 I guess you have to choose between form and look vs functionalitiy and on the Landmark 40. It still does not look as good as on the pictures or when not fully packed. But it has toatlly delivered in terms of long term sturdyness!

Great review thanks :) How comfortable would you say it is for walking around with for around 4 to 6 hours? Thanks again!

Thanks! It really depends on how much weight you carry, your own physcal shape and how tall you are. I would say 10kg with the hip belt could be okey for an extended amount of time.

Good review! It seems bulky,Did you have trouble on the airlines having it as a carry on?
@hmuller

Thanks! I haven't yet, but I have mostly used it with SAS, lufthansa and Norwegian. But I have been told by a flight attendant to put it in the top compartment instead if undeneath the seat, because it was sticking too much out. This was at the window seat where the space under the seat is generally good.

Nice review thanks. Would you happen to know the main compartment approximate internal dimensions of this bag? The website is puzzling!

Do you prefer the landmark over the subterra 34L
@hmuller
@hmuller 2 жыл бұрын
Acutally I prefer to oposite in most situations. The subterra 34 pushed med to be more mindfull about what I bring both on daily basis and with traveling. But for heavier loads and stuff taking up a lot of space I still like the configuration of the landmark 40 and its hipbelt allowing me to comfortably carry heavier weight. On the contrary, I do not like the look of the landmark 40 if it is not comletely packed full.

@@hmuller thank you very much. I was thinking the same. Your reviews of the packs are by far the best on KZfaq.

Great review. Did you ever have problems at a check in desk as far as the weight of your bag for carry on? Im looking to stuff skme camera gear in this and it seems you might have some experienge with carrying camera gear

Well, I did not actually, that beeing partially due to beeing mindfull about what airline I used , and what I packed. When traveling with a ligher setup, I could get away with the gamble of bringing 2-3kg ekstra weight - with Scandinavian Airlines and even Norwegian arilines. Whats funny is that my heaviest setupb was my lowepro protactic 450aw fully loaded up with 15kgs worth of gear, but given that it alwyas has the same size no matter how stuffed it is, it did not look like a particularly heavy bag. I also brought a carry on roller suitcase as well. This was a on a transatlantic flight with icelandair, and I was sure this was not going to be accepted, but I was not asked to weigh my abg, nor my suitcase. But in my experience it was always a lot more comfortable going for an airline with less stright weight restrictions. My favourite was British Airways given their insane 23kg limit. What you should worry more about is how this bag packs. It really need to be fully stuffed to look anything like the advertisment images, and 95% oof the time stuff falls to the bottom on it. Get a good camerainsert, and pack it up with som packing cubes and you will be good.

@@hmuller i appreciate you taking time to answer all this mate, ill keep all of this in mind! Im still on the hunt for a good carry on bag for gear+ some clothes for long term travel. Im quite minimal as far as clothing goes but i want something that would be half suitable for camera gear without actually being a full on camera bag. Sooo complicated

@@teogalli7522 Have you considered the Wandr Prvke 31? Benn looking into that as my next one-bag travelbackpack, given that you have sideaccess, rolltop and clamshell-opening. I´ve also been considering the Peak design 35l as it can go from 30-45l and has a nice camera ecosystem. But both of those are quite pricy.

@@hmuller hmm the wandr is a bit too small as im planning to travel with this bag for a couple of years. The peak looks sick though, although out of my budget for the time being. Not an sasy choice!!

Yeah, the Landmark-kind of backpack maybe something you would prefer then. I bought mine on a sale for arraoung 100 dollars, so you can get it quite cheap. I haven´thad any wear-related issues with it so far. Actually using it as a camerabag for a timelapse shoot this morning. The only thing you should be aware of is finding your "magic" weight-limit you are willing to use when traveling worldwide.

What do you think about Landmark 60 L? I think i've made a mistake about getting it, i suddenly want to only have Landmark 40L as it is fit to 10 kg stuff without hip belt being used and i have a small torso too. Schei*ße. I shouldve watched your video first before getting this bag.

I though about the 60l beore I got the 40l and thought it was a good deal beeing the same backpack with another backpack as extra accessory. But then I realized the big pack did not have the laptop-pocket and that became the dealbraker. I still feel the Landmark is one of the better designs out there for onebag adventure traveling.
