The exterior compression straps attach about halfway through the bag's depth, so you're not going to be able to completely compress it, but it should cinch everything down at least a couple of inches. Definitely depends what you're packing & how full your bag is. The exterior compression straps feel super durable & like you could really put some pressure on them, or even loop a jacket/yoga mat/tripod through it! I hope that helps! Thanks for watching 😊

Just ordered it for 70$. IMO for that price it has to be best bag. Wanted Osprey farpoint, but laptop pocket and water bottle pocket placement is deal-breaker. I think top compartment has to be handy, because it's easier to reach and there's less pressure. Haven't got it yet but seems like a good deal. What do you think about chest strap? Some say it tends to fall off.
