When I was a kid, I Loved this film! But always found it so confusing because my great grandmother had diabetes and she handled it so well, it honestly didn't seem like all that serious of an illness to me. I understand that it is... But as a child, I found the idea that anyone could actually die from it to be quite strange, indeed. I had been trained to give my great grams insulin shots, had it right there in my face, and it was like it was just a thing some people go through and I'll probably have to go through when I get older... Then I had a classmate who had it 😶💜 Juvenile diabetes is no joke. Not that any form ever was...
