Speaking about losing those plastic clips it looks like another black plastic clip just fell off of your metal detector into the grass at time 3:20. I got into metal detecting back in 1987 buying a used Fisher 1220X from a doctor who bought it new but never had the time to use it.

C scopes like this got many people interested in the hobby and this example still has its pipe finder licence application form so the owner did not use this one much in its life.

@@ringfinder1962 yep I used to have a license for the one I had as well,,but that was way back in the day,,if I remember right it was about £8...but as you probably know you don't need a license any more,,,in those days you needed to have a license for a radio of any kind,,but the government realised there was no way to enforce it,as there where so many around,,including pocket transistor radios lol....😄

I wonder what treasures that has found in its lifetime

My first use of a detector was an early C Scope in about 1975/76. Borrowed from one of dad's friends who was a detectorist and sold such models. Was on loan and did have to go back. Thanks for sharing. I think it was an IB model and I think it had a reset button at the end of the crook handle hand grip.

Thanks for your detailed reply, in about 1979 I purchased a c scope TR700 auto discriminator and it did have a red auto tune button on the tip of the handle. I borrowed an c scope vlf 800 auto discriminator in 1982 and found that was a deep mashine. There was a shop in swindon called the treasure chest who sold the early c scopes.
