A wisp of the Maine Two Footers on my Hon30 logging layout

I made another video of my Hon30 layout, which is now set up as a permanent shelf layout in our living room. Today, I'Ve some special guests from Maine, running on the layout. A wisp of the Maine Two Foot railroads in the south west German forests.

Großartig ! Phantastische Athmosphäre ! Und diese reichhaltige Vegetation ! Und immer wieder diese authentisch großen Bäume, nicht diese Mickerdinger wie mansie meistens auf Modelleisenbahnanlagen, aber auch Dioramen der Standmodellbauer antrifft. Bewundernswert !

Landscape and buildings and the track and all movements are realistic and romantic. You can feel the warm breath of summer on the grass. Greetings from Henry from Hannover

Nice to receive your heart ! With All respect , the here in Maine living paint colors are are a much more rich and noble darker shade of Forest green & the red dark and the crew boarding steel grab handles on caboose are a standard black …

These models were mostly "out of the box" products by Minitrains, slightly modified with paint I had available. It wasn't intended to have some real Maine prototype in mind. It's just a wisp of them, shown on my European layout. Actually, I sold the rolling stock several years ago to gain budget for another project. Anyhow, I'm going to build a new combine for my 5"gauge railroad some day, so your hints on paint color will be helpful on the next project 👍

You should definitely add a sawmill, with a little creek to power it, it would be Nice if you have one already, anyways, your layout amazes me everytime

Wonderful shelf layout, the scenery looks great, and the trains run good, I'm hoping to get one of the forneys pretty soon and have my own fun in HOn30 again soon

Hi Peter, the width of the modules is 20cm, approx. 4". The length is actually 320cm, which is 10 1/2 feet. Gerd

Hi, the engine shed was made by Faller for TT-gauge. It's actually a rare item. The house beside is made by Vollmer and comes along with the char coal piles (but is also available separat), the strucutre beside the log landing is made by Auhagen.

Where did you buy the 2-4-0 from. I’ve been having trouble finding it

Hi, there's no 2-4-0 involved, only 0-4-4 Forney and 0-4-0 with tender. Both locos are products by Minitrains.eu and were available by several dealers as well as directly from Minitrains.eu As far as I know, they are sold out at factory, but you might find some in dealers stock. Theres a list provided on the company website.

Are the American styled locos that Minitrains make good? I'm thinking about buying one.

They run as well as the other Minitrains stuff. If you're looking for some of the US-models you should hurry up, since there are rumors that they will go our of production till end of this year.

Alright, I guess I'll need to do that soon then. It seems Minitrains discontinue all their stuff after a while, it was very hard for me to find the Brigade loco set so I'm lucky I got one. But buying a US 0-4-0 will have to wait for me because I just got a On3 scale K-27 Mikado engine. :\

The trains are made by Minitrains.eu in Germany and are available through some dealers/retailers. Check out their website to find a list of dealers/retailers, maybe there's one in your area. If not, they also offer direct sale/order via email. Gerd

What scale is the figures and buildings?

Hi Timothy, they are H0-scale (3.5mm scale). The shed was made by Vollmer, the engine shed by Faller (original a 1:120 scale model for TT-gauge, but works perfect for H0 narrow gauge. Figures are all Preiser 1:87 (3.5mm scale) Gerd
