God bless his soul man . I was on dialysis for 2 years and let me tell you I thought I was going to die . Dialysis isn’t easy there’s always something wrong.. my Blood pressure was up the roof sometimes rushed to the hospital because I felt sick .. but THANk GOD MY FATHER was a match and donated me his kidney. It is literally a life changing experience.
@ashleyblack61572 жыл бұрын
You are so right about dialysis!!! Always something wrong…it’s like ur always just on the brink of death…hanging on by just a single frayed thread that is about to give way. My Mom was on dialysis for several years before she passed away. And I know it keeps ppl alive while they are waiting for a transplant or extends ppls lives a little longer who are terminal like my Mom but truly unless u have been on dialysis or watched a close loved one go through it, u just cannot comprehend the horror of it. My mom had to have it every other day. And the days when she didn’t have dialysis, she had to have chemo. SMH. It was literal torture for her. Bc ppl normally feel sick the days after they get dialysis so she would be at the dialysis center on say, a Monday, for 4 hours I believe it is, and then sick as fuck on Tuesday while going in to a different center for chemo. And then back to dialysis again on Wednesday and so on and so forth. My Mom was by far the strongest woman I have ever met. She endured like that for 3 years before she lost her battle. But she fought so hard bc she wanted to be here for me and my sister and her precious grand baby, my daughter who was 5-8 years old while this was going on…she didn’t want to leave us alone she said. She wanted to stay. And oh how we wanted her to stay!! She lived with us and I will forever be thankful for the time we got to spend with her and her with us, especially her and my daughter together. They shares an unspeakable bond. But it was Hard. But even at her sickest moments, she still was only worried about us. She still was tending to us. 2 days before she died she was standing at the kitchen sink doing the dishes. The poor woman could barely stand!! We begged her not to sit down and not worry about it but she said it was just something she had to do. And that it comforted her to do that one last thing for us. God knows I wish I would have done better. I wish I would have taken her to every dialysis and chemo appt instead of her having to take the little handicapped bus. I wish I would have sat with her and held her hand the entire time she was getting her treatment. Like where the Fuck was I that was more important than being there with her? I wish I would have been nicer to her. I wish I would have been more thoughtful and less self seeking, I wish I would have paid her more attention and spoken to her more gently. I wish I would have listened to what she was actually saying and picked up on the little things she wanted or needed. Bc my Mom would never ask for anything. She was always worried about all of us. The one thing the she made very clear to me, the one thing she was the most terrified of, was me putting her in hospice or a convalescence home. That was her biggest fear. To be separated from me and my sister and my daughter in a cold and foreign place. And out of all the wrongs I have done in my life, praise Jesus that I saw to it that she never went to a place like that. She stayed with us until the end. I had made the promise to her, and I kept it. I looked her in the eyes and told her thst as long as their was breath in my body, I would not let her be separated from us. She put her faith in me and I kept my word. Praise Jesus!!! In all the world, a daughter never loved her mother as much as I loved you Mom….as much as I still do….✝️💟🙏

Why did he have to he blind folded and couldn’t hear?! And the parents were emotionless
@acacius99035 жыл бұрын
I don't know about they blind fold and not hearing part. It was indeed weird. Maybe they really wanted to become a surprise when the door opens to who it was behind that door that donate the kidney. And for the parents I was also thinking the same thing. But I thought about it a little longer and maybe the parents are emotionally drained by losing their daughter and having to suffer (emotionally) with their son in the hospital waiting and suffering.
@arrow57265 жыл бұрын
Maybe they didn't want him to see OR hear anything... people who can see can still read lips
@MsBhappy5 жыл бұрын
@@acacius9903 Exactly, they had to listen to the story about their daughter, which was presented in a way to make the audience more emotionally attached to the story, whilst being filmed and interviewed. Only a month earlier they found out that their son who was literally dying before their eyes over 2 years would get surgery, then it takes another two weeks I believe to know for certain whether the kidney will be accepted by the body or rejected. Thennn they find out they can meet the donor who saved their son's life but it will be on tv. Talk about emotionally draining few years and then an overwhelming month.
@MsBhappy5 жыл бұрын
@@arrow5726 I assume that they didn't want him to see a photo of the donor, which was being shown on the tv screen in the studio. It would have ruined the surprise.

I cannot imagine deciding at the age of 19 to give up a perfectly good, working kidney to help someone else live. I cannot even understand that thought process.
