Күн бұрынLast year Fractal released a very well received case called Torrent. It came with some pretty impressive 180mm fans and was quickly labelled by the public as an airflow king. Everyone across the whole industry rated it as one of the best cases of 2021. This year we get its little brother Torrent Nano - the scaled down version for a smallish build factor. It comes in at 34.6 litres in size and looks pretty bold. The question you may have - is it worth getting it?

This case is awesome. One thing I don't like in most mITX cases is that airflow is bad, and it's more water cool oriented. This is almost as good in airflow as a mid-tower, but being much smaller. With bottom 2 x 140mm (or 120mm) fans, the GPU would have much lower temperature.

A normal 25mm fan wont fit under a modern graphics card, even a 15mm fan would have a hard time fitting there and I guess even if it would fit, I would do more harm than good, beeing this close to the GPU.

@@MV_96 @MV if it's a dual slot card, you can easily fit 15mm fans (maybe even 25mm, but it will be at the limit). You can believe 2 bottom fans will help the GPU have lower temperature because they are feeding it fresh air, instead of letting its fans do all the work. It's the same case as with a CPU cooler, having front fans feeding fresh air makes the cooler work less for a better temperature.

Looks like you could fit an additional 3.5 HDD where the water pump goes between the front fan and 24 pin connector.

It defiantly is a large itx case. but this case has way better cooling than most all other itx cases, without being insanely expensive.

And ease of access. A NR200P is a freaking nightmare to service. Otoh, you're paying a huge premium for mini-itx mobos, so I'd go with m-atx everytime if the case (like this one) takes big ass atx psus, doesn't make much sense otherwise. Meshify 2 mini, or if one really insists, nr200p, but that one is just asking to get ripped off on mobo for very little reason

180mm radiators not as common yet, had to go with more standard approach.

The bit that confuses me is that this case is fairly close in size to the Meshify C Mini (MATX) and is really limited in AIO placement with the PSU being in the roof of it. I do wonder how much real airflow the GPU gets with that 180mm fan blowing air right past the back of it rather than pushing cool air to the front of the GPU fans - very interested to see how it stacks up in terms of GPU thermals compared to running it with dual 120/140 fans in the front.

Based on out tests the fan at the front helps remove excess heat from the GPU, but sliding in two slim fans below could help with this further. We will be doing full water-cooling build so stay tuned.

Does MSI Suprim X (336mm) GPU fit in there ? it has 1mm offset from the rated 335mm maximum length

Only video I could find that details hard drive configurations for the nano, I’m considering this build with a 120mm AIO on the exhaust, not sure yet. Good video nonetheless!

@@A2KMedia It’s in planning stages right now, and the cpu is the 12600k that just came out. The 120mm aio is going to be the nzxt kraken m22

I would recommend going with a bigger air cooler, this case has great airflow and air cooler would work better. as an added bonus, it will be similar price :)

@@A2KMedia what would be the best tower cooler you’d recommend to fit in? Noctua redux looks nice, I wouldn’t know sizes very well in a case I’m yet to purchase

Noctua NHD 15 would work or bequiet dark rock pro 4. they are a bit more expensive but really good. I would recommend checking out one of the latest gamers nexus videos on the air coolers and have a look at the over all graph - some really nice units there.

Does anyone have any idea what the cooler is at 1:21? I have scoured the internet and couldn't find it outside of these promotional photos. It's gorgeous and really fits this case well.

If anyone finds their way to this video and reads this, I contacted Fractal Design regarding and the GPU cooler is an artist rendering and doesn't exist. Truly bizarre.

There is a video by someone here on youtube with a suprim x installed into a torrent nano case, so i suppose so, but only together with the 180mm fan that is.

@@A2KMedia The Meshify C was almost a perfect front panel too... but that skeletal design below the mesh was ugly imo. Fractal does a great job almost making perfect cases lol

Can I expect cpu temps (i5 12400), with stock cooler or air cooler, to remain below 70 degrees in any ITX case?

With stock cooler -unlikely 70 max but in gaming you will likely be fine.

I don't think it will fit. as it is going to be hitting the front panel unless you can somehow mod it

Good case but airflow near gpu sucks.. Heat from gpu blows to the window and gets stuck there. no place to add a fan near it.. instead of glass and rgb it should have venting holes next to the gpu

that is fair, but there is plenty of air coming from front and gets executed at the back - this would be better with mesh side, but it would affect the looks.

Does anyone know how much clearance is between a 2.5 slot gpu an the bottom? Would it be enough to fit some slim fans (ca. 15 mm)?

hey, just did a test fit and with our card I can install slim arctic fan. The only concern is power cables, you either need to have nice braided cables that you can pull around the side or go from top.

For my next PC I want to go smaller than the standard mid-tower (in my last two PCs besides for the GPU I didn't need any other PCI-slots) but not full sff, as I would prefer easiers air cooling and dust management/cleaning. An option for me is the Phanteks Eclipse P200A. It's cheaper but doesn't come with usb-c in the non-rgb & glass variant. The Torrent Nano is most likely of better production quality. Thanks again. :)

I think that is the sweet spot - small build but not SFF :) personally I think Torrent Nano also looks better

Why would you want a solid plastic or chep metal back panel over dark tinted glass? It is way higher quality to have glass, unless they went with aluminum but considering all the parts are plastic that would be a weird choice.

They sell solid steel panel as an option. That would make it cheaper and since back is irrelevant it would still look good.
