Though this is a long shot away in my plans for getting a second camera my question is whether to go for a Sony A7 RV or Sony A7 SIII. Logic being I already have the a7s4 and I am not a die hard videographer. But occasionally I would like to dabble in some b-rolls for social media 😂

@@Ashen2010 I’m assuming you meant the a7iv not s4 since it hasn’t come out haha but hmm if you’re wanting one that can still do some good b-roll but mainly more for photo, then probably the a7rV! It does 4k 60 uncropped to my knowledge and you can do great stills with it too. The a7siii is great for video but not so much for photo compared to the a7iv and a7rV. So if you’re wanting more photo centred with great video then the a7rV would be more than ideal!

BROOOOO. Your image looks amazing. Excited to watch you grow on here. Personal opinion, the ZV-E1 is the way to go. On the software improvements alone, it makes more sense. SUBSCRIBED.

I’d definitely go SIII. I bought the zve10 a while back which is similar to the Zve1 and I really didn’t like the cheaper feel and lack of evf. Just my opinion though since I know the SIII is more expensive.

Makes sense! I mean the pro body and the extra features of the a7siii are great! Makes sense why the extra cost haha but I mean it does make it bigger but I can live with both just depends on the shoot day 😂

I sold my a7siii and a74 and replaced them with the zve1 and a7c2. Definitely happy to have the upgrades of the new cameras that the older ones will never get. I definitely like the smaller FF of the new cameras. Aside from being a little (a lot) sentimental about my a7siii I don’t miss it or the a74 at all.

That sounds like a sweet set up! I’m debating if I want to pick up the Sony a7cii but I know I can’t get rid of my a7iv since I do like having the dual SD cards for more of the professional work that I’ll do but I have a feeling that the way that SD cards are nowadays I should be fine with one, but I don’t wanna risk it on one of my jobs and that happens 😂😂😂 but I do want to have the smaller factor for travel specially, for my KZfaq videos but I don’t think my wife would be happy if I get another camera just to have 😂😂😂

@@EasyTigerCreative I don't do pro work like you but I definitely went through the hours of torturous mental gymnastics in trying to make the decision to sell my a7siii (bought it on release day and absolutely loved that camera!!). I have shot many hundreds of hours on all of my Sony cameras and have never (knock, knock) lost footage due to a faulty SD card. So, a single SD card slot was not a big deal for me. I live in South Florida and shoot a lot outside so overheating was my biggest concern. The a7siii simply never overheated at 30 and 60 no matter what the temp was. So far the zve1 has not been a problem for overheating. Overall I am definitely happy with my arrangement now. Cool video, thanks for posting!

@@ChrisMitchells_FlyingCameras that’s why I couldn’t get rid of my Sony a7siii because it’s so good for all the hard work I can put it through but I definitely love my zve1 with the updates and the portability that I use it quite a lot for every day so I know I could use the Sony a7cii for every day photo and video since it has a mechanical shutter but for now I’ll stay with what I have and see what comes next or if I eventually decide to condense I might do that too but we’ll see what happens next! I appreciate you watching the video and the chat, I truly enjoyed it!

I recently bought a used A7SIII for "only" 2200 € - the same price as a new ZVE1. I'm an EVF guy and was looking for a second camera, which can be used for client work (second SD Card slot, no overheating and so on) and a camera which could be a B-Cam for stills (mechanical shutter). Those three things do not come with the ZVE1 - even though it has some newer features, I'm now very happy with my new / old Siii 😊

We've talk about this before but I'd much sooner get a A7cii or A7CR over the ZV-E1. If I'm getting a smaller camera for vlogging and tracking I'll want a body that can do both photo and video well and the 12mp just isn't enough for photos imo.

I wish the a7cr wasn’t so expensive because in all honesty, I probably would’ve picked it up over the zve1 because it had no crops on the 4K 60 and you get good enough megapixels that you can do the apsc mode to get more range for photos and condensing further

yesterday ordered new zv-e1 and ulanzi fan (in russia it cost 1760$) hope it will be good (now shoot with a7c)

I shooting music video now on a6700 but want full frame, I wanna buy fx3 but price is so much, and I think about zv e1, but there are doubts whether zv e1 is suitable for this, what can you advice?

If you plan to shoot for longer hours and kind of consistently, I would go with the fx3 but if it’s too expensive, I would look to find a used a7siii since it’s basically the same thing but you could fight some good use ones in the market. The zve1 can do a lot of work, but if you’re shooting long hours, it could potentially overheat, depending on your settings and climate. But I’ve also heard that you can get a little fan for it by the brand ulanzi and that it helped a lot for it to not overheat at all so that could be another cheaper option.

I got the Sony A7S3 - I like the EVF - got to have it. I tried the ZV-E1 - liked the smaller size but with only the LCD screen that is weak, and no EVF, just doesn't work for me!

That makes sense! Someone had said it’d be cool to be able to attach an evf, which I think would be a cool thing to be able to do with those compact cameras honestly.

is this shot with ZV-E1, if soo ... absolutely lovely footage ... did u shoot on Slog and how did u get this looks ??? do u have ur own luts ???

The talking head part of the video was shot with the a7iv actually! And I did shoot in slog3 and then converted to rec709 and then used my custom LUT Day & Night for the colour grading plus some tweaks to the image! If you’d like to check it out you can at easytigercreativeco.com/shop/ ❤️

I am using A7 IV and I love it, but decided to get ZV-E1 for videography as A7 IV shoots in crop mode at 50fps. I don't use 100fps that often but it would be great for a student project I am working on. It has been a week now and despite the low resolution, at 12MP, the photos from ZV-E1 look "amazing" (in their own category of course). I noticed though that recording handheld with ZV-E1 is a bit jerky. Any tips to make it more stabilised?

I do love my zv-e1! Really great compact camera for video honestly and even photo in its own way! For better handled video do you use the dynamic active stabilization? Or not at all? Just to know if you’re doing that already, but usually what I do is try to walk as smooth as I can and hold the camera closer to my body sturdy. Sometimes even a little heavier lens can help if you have one!

@@EasyTigerCreative I use only Active SteadyShot as I believe that Dynamic AS crops in and therefore "alters" the focal length. I also put on the Sony 24mm F2.8 G and this pairing is just lightweight. So, I guess you are right, putting a heavier lens could help. But, to make it a bit heavy for now, I am going to put on the grip/handle (Sony GP-VPT2BT) and see if the stabilisation improves. Keep up with more interesting videos! Especially on making cinematic ones. I am absorbing your knowledge 🙂

@@halimrahman I would just test out the dynamic active stabilization when you can to see how you can make it work despite the crop. That’s what I do and it can help. I don’t always use it so just pick and choose when you can sacrifice the crop in for more stabilization haha And thank you! I got some plans for more cinematic type of videos I’ll be working on 😁

Apt video. I'm choosing ZV E1. i'll be shooting mostly 4k 120 for food and culture related short videos. f2.8 on Sigma 24-70 will be enough for low light 4k 120 or I should go for 35 f1.8. By low light I mean 30 mins before sunset in outdoor natural light. Any suggestion will greatly help.

Oh you’ll love the zve1 then if you need 4k 120 and low light! You’ll be more than fine with the sigma lens! I’ve been using an f4 lens for low light for my zoom lens for a travel and it worked perfectly! You might even need to use a variable nd filter to properly expose with the iso 12,800 for slog3 for better noise control since that’s the dual native iso on slog3!

I have a question. Not related to the video though. I have seen some videos where people are using the default Sony camera body lens cap as a grey card for custom white balance. Is it really 18% grey? Didn’t have a grey card to check. Just wondering if you could verify it. 😊🙏🏻 if u have a grey card

I haven’t tested it out honestly. But I also rarely use a grey card since I don’t even remember where I left mine 😂
