You are confused. He is massively more powerful than his Book 3 self,benders peak in their middle age. Its just that against bloodbending it doesnt matter. We saw Hama control kid Aang,Sokka and Katara and yet she was far weaker than Katara alone. Bloodbenders need Avatar State or bloodbending to be countered. As for Korra pushing Amon back at that point he had taken quite a beating. Tarrlok also took down Tenzin and the others even though Tenzin is stronger than No Avatar State Korra . Korra also overpowered Tarrlok at first but once he used bloodbending he easily overpowered her. Its clear that bloodbending aside,Aang was astronomically more powerful than Yakone,also far above Adult Toph who would be far above Kid Toph etc. Bloodbending ignores normal power. Its basically hacking
