Why not just hit the baserunner with the a throw if you don't think you'll have time to get the guy at first? Also a lot of people slide like that, Judge is just 8 feet tall so it actually effected the play for once lol

don’t follow sports much anymore… but, back in the day😅 early 2000s in high school ball, we used to just run with our batting gloves in our fists. So that we had to make a fist while we run. Protects the fingers when sliding, just as good as an oven mitt. Also, I am neither a Brewers nor a Yankees fan.
