Orioles lost a run to a bad call: it was pretty clear Santander got his hand to the plate LONG before Jansen got the glove to his chest. But because there was no camera angle to determine whether or not the glove hypothetically GRAZED Santander's hand as they crossed past each other, there was Not Enough Evidence To Overturn. Instead of making the best call, just like you said, they went with the original call. Oh, and check out Vladdy's at bat mid-game. I could have sworn it was a full count where Vladdy goes around. Catcher's too busy trying to catch a baserunner to point to first base ump. So it just... stays at 3-2? Wasn't a ball or a strike, apparently. Another plate ump breaking bad.

My field in college was surrounded by woods and a pond. One time there was a turtle on the field and people were poking it with a stick to get it to walk away, I felt bad and picked it up and took it to a ditch. Hopefully turtle live long and prosperous life.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. The umpires union has got to get flipped on its head. The fact that Angel Hernandez is still in the MLB in 2024 is just comical. Just like for MLB players, umpires should be subject to performance evaluations. If you’re not up to par, send em down to the minors and call up the top prospect.
