In a sports world where every word and every action is scrutinized by pundits and bloggers alike, it is rare that an athlete at the top of the game shares the raw and vulnerable truth. On this unprecedented podcast, Super Bowl winning quarterback Aaron Rodgers opens up with radical authenticity about his challenging journey to self love, and the Ayahuasca experience that preceded his back to back MVP seasons. This is a look behind the veil of one of the greatest and most enigmatic superstars of our time, as he reclaims the narrative of his own story.
Among many other topics, we discuss the necessity to see beyond the polarity of political partisanship, his actual beliefs on the pandemic, and what it means to be a leader both on and off the field. I am honored to call him a friend and brother, and grateful to share this podcast full of laughter, tears, and most importantly: heart.

As a lifelong packers fan, an Aaron Rodgers fan and following him for years and seeing his appearances on the Pat Mcafee show. I can only expect that the mainstream media will try and tear him down. For this reason is why I love this man so much as a human in today's society. No matter what is said about him he is unapologetically himself, thoughtful, caring, intelligent, and absorbent to what improves himself. All should aspire to get to headspace like that.

It's inspiring to see a man like Aaron open up and share his journey, especially coming from such a tough sport like football where there's little room for weakness and vulnerability. There's no telling how many other souls Aaron will inspire. The mainstream media will try to rip 10 second soundbites from this to fit their own narrative, but anyone who actually watches this podcast will see that Aaron is a kind, self-aware, deep thinker.

Is it weird that USA Today featured Aaron Rodgers with a link to this Aubrey Marcus Podcast? No, there hasn't been a negative psychedelics article in the Mainstream since about 2016. It's a counter-trend to Trump. Although I believe that psychedelics is more libertarian, not leftist-liberal.

Combat vet here. Psychedelics really helped me understand myself and things around me more and how things work. I was always so curious about why things are the way they are. I now have a peace about most things and find it easier to love myself and care for others. I'm a huge cheesehead. Arod is my favorite of all time. Your first Ayascua story sounded like what the mushroom taught me a couple of years ago in a cow field here in South Georgia USA. The message was “There are 1,000 ways to die. But there is only one way to live. And if you live that one way - those thousand won’t matter.” Much love to everyone from the swamps of Deep South Georgia USA. Country folks can survive.

@CountryFriedZen

@@GoogleAccount00 I think the way is different for everyone, but for me the one way to live is being fully present in every moment of every day. Which is something I work on daily and find myself getting better and better. And yeah I’ve had plenty of shrooms. Highest dose so far was 10 grams dried on an empty stomach. I’m 39 and didn’t try shrooms until 2016 when I moved back to the farm in Georgia from the swamp in DC. Changed my life. I haven’t touched alcohol since, I’ve been fully carnivore / keto for 4+ years without a single cheat day, I workout like a beast, I started making my bed every morning and keeping my house nice and clean whereas as a left handed political marketer creative type I was always messy. I quit watching porn. And I can’t hunt anymore cause I can’t make myself pull the trigger (I pretty much eat like a dozen eggs every single day). All because the mushroom told me to. Also got my door kicked down but I’ll save that story for later.

Wow, my last mushroom experience taught me something very similar, i kept being brought back to the same conclusion over and over after asking so many different questions that one thing mattered most and that was unconditional love for myself and everything in the universe! I would say to myself “ well what about this? “ and what was answered back to me was something along the lines of “that’s great and all but you know it’s all about LOVE”! There is this moment where the curtains are lifted and what is revealed becomes this moment of awe, and you realize it’s what you’ve always known your entire life but only forgot over time like most humans tend to do and then it’s this “Aha” moment and all I could do was laugh and cry simultaneously ❤️ My selfish ways of living we’re also revealed and I found myself reaching out to loved ones the next day apologizing for my selfish behavior even though most people didn’t see me in that light! Mushrooms saved many years of a meaningless life and I thank God everyday for blessing me with this experience 🙏

To be honest this was one of the most inspirational interviews I’ve ever watched. I thought at first their relationship was a little superficial until they started sharing from their hearts. This, I feel, was one of the bravest things I’ve ever seen a pro athlete do… speak from their heart and discuss matters of truth. Thank you for incredible courage Aaron and Aubrey. Two exceptional men paving the way for the divine balance of masculinity and femininity. I could see Aaron retiring in SF, he’d be supported to the moon and back :)

@@h2w25 valuing and loving yourself is in no way shape or form anti-biblical. It is psychologically important to value yourself. If you can’t value yourself then you won’t know how to value someone else. This doesn’t have to mean that you don’t put Christ first. Your interpretation of Scripture is very narrow. Very legalistic and predictable I’ve heard it many times.

LSD and mushrooms completely changed my whole outlook on life. I became a better version of myself This experience gave me a lot of confidence about my self and my body. A bunch of bad thought / behavior patterns were broken. One of these was pretty bad OCD that made me wash my hands a lot. It gave me a lot of hope that things will be fine, this is the one thing that I heard throughout the trip: Everything is alright. The main reason for the trip was my severe depression and it definitely helped me (although it's not gone). Before all I could do was lay in bed. Now I am trying to rebuild my life one step at a time which wasn't possible before."

It really gives me hope that with that self love comes a shield from everything that gets thrown your way. Much like Aaron I have grown up with football and a deep love of football. While he was watching Joe Montana I was watching Brett Favre. I think people expect athletes to be super human. I appreciate Aaron showing that he is a human with a super talent but he’s just a human who is as human as the rest of us. It’s refreshing to see the openness to share that with the world. What an interview. By far one of the most misunderstood humans that has a giant spotlight on him. It’s been a gift to be able to watch his entire career as a lifelong packers fan. And to hear him speak like this, just really brings about, in myself, sincere appreciation for who this guy is. I myself am a fan of the psychedelics and recently had a trip where I came to a lot of the same conclusions. To forgive is divine, especially when it comes to the self. Wish nothing but the best for the guy and hope someday he can find that reconciliation with his family. I know a lot of packers fans will be really upset with this interview, and that’s okay. Those people just do not understand what those psychedelic experiences are like and how immensely powerful it can be for your mental and spiritual health. Seriously, love and deeply appreciate you Aaron. Go fucking ball out this season and get you another one of these 💍. I always debate my emotions to fans who say "13-3, 13-4 but still lose in the playoffs". My response is that this man entertains and brings joy to my life that many weeks. It takes me little time to get over a playoff loss. But it'll take eternity to stop me from loving the entertainment I gained for so many weeks and years!

In the end, the NFL is the sport most prone to luck in the playoffs. The teams are very closely matched generally, a key injury, or a call this way or that way can easily decide a game. It's not a system designed for the cream to rise to the top (like the NBA or MLB for example where the playoffs are 3 out of 5 or 4 out of 7).

Aaron Rodger’s you are a true warrior poet. Following your true nature. Expanding a lot of people holding back to open themselves up to become their true selfs. I’ve been listening to Aubrey Marcus for a while and he always resonates truth or at least I feel it when he speaks and who he brings on his podcasts. You just have made a big impact on me. Thank you for showing up and allowing us to see you in a new perspective of being more than a great quarterback!

I am so grateful that you share these powerful and sacred medicines and even more so how you share with your heart and stay humble on this path. My life has been changed by these sacred medicines after an awakening I had 4 years ago after a suicide attempt. As a disabled veteran these medicines have given me my life back and shown me the expansiveness of my being and soul. Thank you! I look forward to meeting you one day!

What I love about channels like this and specifically yours, is we get to see what it is that actually makes us human. Sharing our deep and personal stories (And at times), our vulnerabilities... All of which makes us much more than just a "Professional Athlete" etc. We all know Aaron Rodgers the talented football player, but it's becoming less and less interesting for me to see this one side of a person, but to see the many other more important and fascinating aspects of someone's life. There are just so many more opportunities to find commonalities and be able to openly share and embrace those as opposed to the superficial layer(s) that most of us get to witness. Thanks Aubrey & Aaron for sharing! ♥

Thank you for sharing this! As a professional athletic performance coach I’ve spent half my life developing athletes and everything discussed in this talk/journey is what I personally and intuitively know in my soul as truth. As I’ve stepped into a healer in form of a bodywork practitioner (reiki+stretching+massage) I have seen, felt and heard transformations quicker and more genuinely than any western medicine practice. The body truly does keep the score. Aaron and Aubrey, you rock for speaking from truth and spreading this enlightenment with the collective. And Aaron I truly believe this is a big swing of the door to collide the holistic energetic/spiritual/physical/mental world with the athletic world. Much love.

So happy to see this. I've been on journey that shares similarities (and enormous differences obviously) with Aaron. I'm also a diehard Packers fan and have watched all of his public comments, press conferences, interviews, games. When Aaron returned to Green Bay two years ago and spoke my first thought (with exuberance and joy) that "Aaron has either been to Peru or he's going soon and I'm all for it." It's so important to raise awareness of mental health and benefits of psychedelics can't be understated. Really good stuff and I appreciate it.
