Looks amazing, well done Aaron. I did the same with regard to the fuge on my last tank and had no mechanical pre filter. It worked but I found I had too much detritus after a while in the fuge section. In my latest build I have added a Clarisea 5000 and partially bypassed it. Very pleased with the way it works.

Dang thats the way to fill a tank! bring in a hose.. done.. I always spent days filing mine with rodi then adding in salt. Tank is looking awesome! great update. Your fish cupboard is perfect behind it!

Tank looks amazing! A closed loop system would’ve looked even better so no power heads in the display since you want a piece of art. Plus acrylic tanks very easy to still. 👍

The tank looks really good. I felt the same way about controllers but this year started using a calcium reactor for the first time after 18 years in the hobby. I got an APEX to help run it and felt like a fool for not getting one sooner. I still do not trust it to run my tank 100% but it makes reef life a lot easier.

Excellent project! I have an acrylic tank too. One tip for cleaning the algage from the DT without scratches , you can use scotch Brite Dobie.

I only use natural sea water, I’m lucky my local Maidenhead sell it (weybridge). I’m looking at changing my ea reef pro 1200 sump to the tmc acrylic sump (200LTR) that they do for under £300

Hey Mike, the tank is looking amazing! The start of the video looks like it's over exposed buddy as your whites are extremely bright. Also is your carbonate mixed fully? It looks like there is a layer of white at the bottom of the barrel. Otherwise I'm loving it mate.

If I could do a tank this size (if I had the time and the money as well as the space) , would definitely do it this way. Waiting to see how it develops next 6 months, 1 year, 18 months, 2 years.

Great tank build like it way better than the big tank you had. You need to fix your exposure of the video it's to blinding man or adjust the lights on the aquarium. Everything is just to bright white. Get a lens filter this will help a lot

Yes, why is the tank shifted forward by what looks like 2-3cm. Why did you not move the pedestal, stand more forward so that tank would be flush and centered.

Do you mean where the front doors go? I think when they are connected it will be flush again. The overhang looked strange though.

It's because I removed the doors so I could film the sump. When the doors are on it's flush. My doors have quick release hinges so I can have more space to work around the tank if required.

Doesn’t natural sea water come with the risk of unwanted pests? Why not just make your own water and add some products to kickstart the cycle

When Mixing salt with RO water you are trying to emulate the sea. Why emulate it, when you can just use it. There's risks with everything but in some instances it's worth it.
