Abandoned Cessna 182 gets a new prop

We replaced the old two blade prop with a new to me Three blade on the ABANDONED CESSNA 182 Sky Lane. We also have more fuel leaks to fix.
Don't for get to check out the video on the abandoned airplane a 1979 Baron B55. Both airplanes where owned by the same owner and sat at the airport for 14 years. These planes where destined for the scrap yard. Thankfully I was able to purchase these planes and rescue them from the scrap yard (hopefully). I am a combination of Jimmy's World and Rebuild rescue. If you haven't seen their videos please check them out. This journey is just beginning.

Great video. I am not an APIA but would gear wrenches help? Maybe there’s not enough clearance still but it seems it would have helped out the situation and save lots of time.

Yes it would, I didn't have a 3/4 inch gear wrench though. Those things are EXPENSIVE!!! Hope you enjoyed the video.

I am assuming you used a new o-ring and cleaned the hallow crank of any lead deposits.

How do you find an abandoned airplane? I think I need one. Also, where can I find an old prop for dirt cheap to make into a ceiling fan?

I happened to find these when I passed the airport. I noticed the flat tires and tracked down the owner. Not sure on the prop. Probably ebay or a Prop shop.

Hope your engine has enough torque and horse power to maintain a 3 blade constantly.

Prop looks nice. Is it a scimitar. How is the Baron coming?

Hartsel prop, the baron is coming along slowly, I haven’t had a chance to work on in in a couple of months. We should be designing the gear in the next couple of weeks, hopefully!!

You said that was a used prop. Can you tell us how much you saved by not going new

I think I paid 6k for the prop. The gentleman I bought it from did the P Ponk conversion on his 182P. He didn't realize the prop couldn't be used on the pponk conversion so he had to get a new prop. His loss and my gain.

Gotcha, lol it defiantly is like the old man that needs a diaper. It takes forever to drain the fuel from the tank. Hope to post that video in a couple of weeks.
