Portuguese architecture reflects the great artistic influences of the many cultures that have inhabited this land.
An art form that can be admired from all four corners of the country.
Intricately crafted interiors, transforming spaces into works of art.
Many years has this old mansion sat abandoned, its contents now long gone, but a stunning array of ornate rooms remain hidden behind a shabby facade.
Impressive designs that differ completely in colour and theme as you move through the house.
The story remains a mystery inside of this beautiful shell, and as nature creeps through the cracks, its fate is gradually sealed, its unique craftsmanship, ever closer to being lost forever.

That's a beautiful mausoleum, very thoughtful of you to show us the inside and to read some of the years. Why would you open the fruit inside and leave the garbage on the floor? Did anyone clean it up? Anyway, it was a nice explore, I enjoyed it.

Love these explorations and lovely places, yet I must agree on both comments. The garbage will contribute to rot and more pests, and the dancing should have been elsewhere..outside maybe?! But enjoying watching the rest. Thanks guys. You really all didn't seem quite yourselves. Jess cursing Jesus, a few oddities in this video for such an incredible place. Forget the cobwebs and toilet. Sorry, still love you guys

Sam, You and Jess find the most interesting places to explore dude. So much artistry used in building these houses. Houses are so bland now, but they lived so cool back then. Another good one. It's a shame to let all these places go to rot. Be well.

I love these Portuguese homes because of the attention to detail that’s in their decorating style especially when it’s teamed up with the very simple windows and shutters. So natural but elegant at the same time. The gardens are fabulous too! The visit to the crypt was pretty cool as well. Thank you Sam and Jess for showing us this awesome explore xx

In the 1800s and 1900s the buildings were so ornate and beautiful and hundreds of years later still here. Can you imagine people looking round a Redrow, David Wilson, or Barretts home in years to come? I don’t think so either. That’s why it’s so important we try and look after these properties as much as possible. I’ve never been to Portugal, but I’m really wanting to now. Hopefully one day I’ll have the opportunity. Thank you Sam and Jess another stunning place off your list. Where next around the world? ❤️♥️❤️

I absolutely loved this exploration! This was such an idyllic charming and extremely ornate house. It’s set the bar very high because it’s the best house to date!! Can this one be topped!!! I seriously doubt it but would definitely love to see what would top it! I loved 🥰 video the as I love all the videos that you do. Take care and stay safe guys and thank you for doing what you do and sharing this video with us!!! 🥰😘💖💖💖💖

Absolutely gorgeous!!! Loved the property!!! Loved the architecture!!! Makes me want to cry to see the beautiful ceilings falling into disrepair 😰 I was surprised that the hallways were sooo very narrow!!! I know that it would cost an astronomical amount to restore & rebuild this property to be the treasure that it once was… but I would love to see you, Sam & Jess be able to make this property your own!!! It would be an iconic Portugal property for the 2 of you 👍🙏❤️ Thank you both for sharing this wonderful property with us!!! I loved it 👍🙏❤️❤️❤️

Absolutely beautiful 💜🔅💜 The outside was as gorgeous as the interior, but I loved the ceilings most I believe. Such grand detail is so notable in these abandoned mansions, where the imagination of the past continues to seep through. Loved the crypt as well, although I prefer fresh fruit odors compared to the old crypt odors that would be present!! Sam and Jess, as always, thank you for sharing these beautiful gems you find💛💛💛

That mausoleum was very ornate and gorgeous! The architecture and designs were beautiful! The plain stone one in North American later ok cold and impersonal in comparison to this marvellous place. Even the carts and equipment are beautifully decorated and ornate ... simply stunning !!

Your previous exploration and mostly the mansion was epic...but....this house looks like it’s the most ornate of them all. I can only imagine how stunningly beautiful the house was when it was lived in with all of it’s furnishings and decorations!! This house, as of right now, is declared by me as the winner for the most stunningly beautiful and most ornately decorated ...ceilings for sure...mansion! I don’t think you’ll be able to find a place that will top this one!! Gorgeous!! Absolutely gorgeous! 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

Great video! The crypt was a beautiful building, I haven't seen anything like that before. I loved the mansion, it was full of surprises. You can tell a lot of thought went into the rooms, the woodwork was gorgeous, and I love all the windows. The outside grounds was my favorite part of this explore, it is awesome that they still tend the gardens and use the land. As always great job!

Mr. Jose! Careful on those floors with the holes! Beautiful home. I especially like the colors and the height of the double doors throughout this house. I could almost smell the sent from the orange trees as you walked up. What a treat it would be to smell orange blossoms, then eat such beautiful fruit! Sad no one cares for the mausoleum any more. ✌🏼🥰

Superb, I love Portugal, picking oranges and lemons off the trees is just luxury, I guess the ones you got were juicers, very sharp. The crypt was good, although I think on that top circle you were probably wading through decomposed bodily fluids, once abandoned, crypts tend to leak out. I would think, coming from a country Janner boy, the caged cockerels were being raised for meat, they have no real value otherwise so you stuff them with grub and kill them at 6 months, sad but delicious. Thank you Sam and Jess for another fantastic explore.

Even with the noisy road right next to the house, I don’t think that that is the reason that the family left the property. You, believe it or not, get used to the noise. I grew up in downtown Toronto and we had the streetcar (trolley, tram) going by right outside our house and it was an old building (old for Toronto anyways ..turn of the century...1900’s). Then just recently I moved to an apartment which is in a small town (just outside of Toronto) that’s basically country except I found out the hard way that it’s extremely noisy here. I knew it was very close to the commuter railway lines but didn’t really think much of it. Until my first night in this apartment. It was around 12am or even 1am when a freight train was going by in the tracks. It was blaring it’s horn nonstop because it was constantly crossing the main roadway. I thought I’d really done it! I thought I’d never sleep again!!! Surprisingly I actually got used to it! It doesn’t wake me up anymore but unfortunately the extremely loud car stereos, in their vehicles, from the inconsiderate people going to the convenience store across the street still wake me up because this store closes at 2am and reopens at 5am. Not much time for peaceful sleep!!

It’s a pity that in Jess’ favourite room (& others too) there is only an electrical cord with a 💡 light bulb 💡 at the end of it instead of the original light fixture. It would have been very interesting to have been able to see that! I’m wondering what type of chandelier they had there with the way the walls and ceilings are so ornately decorated.

Completely gorgeous place, beautiful mausoleum as well! I am sorry to say, but sometimes you focus on the cobwebs(a lot) and negativity, really only in this video I've seen, but there are gorgeous ceilings and architecture to be more focused on. Seems like this video is slightly off from your usual respect. Including the orange peel garbage. Assuming that you cleaned it up however. And dancing in the mausoleum, and Jess swearing is unusual. Sorry, suggestions. Wonderful to see either way, and even when you're a bit negative love you all and truly thank you for what you do
