In today's episode, we explored an abandoned mega mansion with everything left behind. Inside, we found a private 2 story library, chapel, and a massive living room. Everything was still inside the house, and untouched from vandals and robbers as well. Come along as we explore this abandoned mansion.

From the information at hand, I can hazard a guess. This was a private religious school. the abundance of religious icons and the chapel indicate that people worshipped there. The chapel was still set up for 30 - 40 people, although the altar or communion table was taken out when the people left. The center had a large number of children in classes, and the place probably made most of its money as a daycare center (always a lot of money to be made there). The bedrooms and the library meant that the staff lived on-site, and there may have been classes for older students. The books were largely Book of the Month Club editions, which are cheaper; you can tell by the fact almost all of the books are of the same size. They were also left behind, because they're actually worthless. The checkbook indicates that the place ran into financial trouble. I notice that several of the checks were written but not mailed. They people ran out of money and left several debts unpaid. They grabbed what they could and left in a hurry. The pickup truck either wasn't paid for (likely) or didn't work, so they left it behind.

Or could have also been a religious shelter/recovery place. There's several in my town where they have a church and many rooms to house addicts trying to get clean or homeless trying to rebuild their lives.

Owners went to prison? Cult site? Strange so many of these abandoned homes have not been stripped of everything. Do they have reputations for being haunted? Not unusual for locals to keep silent. Tks.

I also thought it may have been a cult or similar, considering the mention of jail. there would have been more than one adult so cant understand the hasty retreat leaving personal items behind.

More info would make this a a great video. Those checks are a wealth of info. You have the address, you could research a bit on the owners/use of the home. Telling us the owners went to jail but there’s religious stuff everywhere makes you really wonder. I don’t see much personal stuff left behind except the checks so occupants were able to get their belongings and leave the junk. Who would leave checks behind? Did a wolf hiding in religious clothing run a home of some sort and misappropriation of funds or abuse the way-wards? More info please

It looks like a large private family home that was bought by some sort of an institution. The chapel and lunchroom plus exit signs and fire alarm pulls indicate that it was converted to public occupancy and had to meet zoning laws. It's also plausible that an organization with no personal attachment to the house and contents could walk away and leave everything behind, including the refrigerator contents. One guess is that a charismatic religious leader held services here but died and his congregation melted away when the services ended suddenly. Of course, that could be total fantasy on my part.

Well if its Abandon, why dont you just move in. Claim it as yours now. I mean if its Truly abandon that is. Cause if its Truly Abandon No One OWNS it, Its Free to take over. Now, if there is like a for sale sign, you have to like maybe pay taxes on it. Then its NOT ABANDON then. Someone OWNS it.
