@tj921abl Yeah, pot is legal and mass produced and they literally give heroin and needles to those addicts!! So called war on drugs all those years was nothing and I mean nothing but a huge, pointless joke.
@tj921able
@tj921able 2 ай бұрын
@@laurakibben4147 I didn't hear anything about heroin being given, but they gave them needles, just so they wouldn't get AIDS using dirty/possibly contaminated needles. The government isn't responsible for getting people off of drugs. The addict has to want to quit, otherwise, they will keep on using, no matter what anyone says. Joke you say? Funny, I never did drugs! My parents did. Maybe seeing their behavior is what kept me off of them. I don't know.
@kkittycatkat1990
@kkittycatkat1990 23 сағат бұрын
@@tj921ableI don't recall them saying that the government was responsible for getting people off drugs. They literally didn't say a thing about it. What they did say was that they give needles & heroin to junkies. I think what they meant was "safe injection sites" where they let people do heroin and give needles. They also said the war on drugs was a literal joke. So, "safe injection sites" are also a huge joke but it really isn't funny. They take their fresh needles, go to one of the parks around the city, shoot up and leave their used needles for children, pets and people to step on. Have you ever seen the birds nest that was made out of used needles? One of the saddest things that I've ever seen. You're right! They won't quit until they're darn well good and ready! In the meantime, they railroad their families by stealing and using them to no end. It's the people who were closest to the addicts who are the real victims and should get the free programs they offer to the druggies that never take the help. They leave their nasty, used, free needles wherever they feel like. Their honestly a drain on society and it really is too bad that they just don't want help. You're right, _they_ have to want to stop. Look up some real stats on "clean injection sites". As for you insisting that "it isn't the governments job" then why does the government have the "clean" injection sites? They give needles for addicts to dirty up and leave all over beautiful parks and school yards! They give out condoms and other things you just wouldn't believe at some of these government waste sites. So, I don't think that you realize how much of a joke both your statements are. Government is heavily involved in the addiction crisis, on BOTH ends! I'm certainly surprised when someone truly doesn't know the extent at which they go to, to keep addicts addicted and to get new drugs here for even more potential addicts. _THAT_ is likely what they meant by the war on drugs being a literal joke. I couldn't agree more. There's plenty of truth out there. Reach out and grab it.

Seeing this resonates with me. Growing up in the '70s and '80s, I experienced bullying because I wasn't "masculine" and I just wasn't into what the other boys were into such as roughhousing and sports. There was a time I tried to be like my older brother who was seen as masculine and I just couldn't be. Thank goodness, times have changed and there's much more acceptance....The ending of this made me so happy. When the dad came to watch his son and daughter dance, he said, "That's my son and he smiled as a proud dad. What a great episode!

I have to honestly say nobody pushed me or even offered drugs in school. There were plenty around. If I’d wanted them, I certainly knew where to find them. But then again, I wasn’t into the whole high school social thing. I went to class, did my work, got good grades, left, went to work, then home, etc. I enjoyed camping on the weekends if not not working. Sundays were about church, family, and guest recruits from the Navy base.

What gets me is that a parent can raise a kid to truly and honestly be a good person and everyone that knows the kid should be able to give that kid a "second chance" If you want to raise an honest child than when the kid says he didn't do something you've got to trust that you raised them to be honest! If kids don't think adults are going to trust them, then why should they rise above what people expect from them?

You know, it's funny before I entered high school I saw this kind of stuff in movies and on TV shows. I believed that when I got go like Jr High or High School, people were going to randomly come over to me and try to peer pressure me to drink or do drugs. I just thought that was like a daily or weekly thing for teens! But, I think the truth now is the same as when this 40 year old was in school. If you are friends with good people, kind of a nerd but close to the good buddies you do have - and they are "good kids" they most likely will not have a dramatic scene in witch they pressure you into getting high. Random people don't really care what you do or don't do. They certainly are not going to spend their time trying to push drugs and drinks on to some kid they don't know! Honestly, I knew where I could go if I wanted to get drugs. I knew where the stoners and the cool kids hung out and kids today probably know as well. It was my choice not to go over there and ask for drugs! I am 40 years old and no one has ever peer preasured me into doing drugs or even having a drink. The 80s and 90s had this big scare vibe that people were going to constantly offer you drugs. The more likely scenario is that "you" go over to the stoners and "you" go ask to buy drugs.

Agree, I'm 43 and I was never approached by any drug dealers in school. Even if I had wanted to try them, I wouldn't have known where to go! I was a choir kid and studied or went to the movies or mall.

I was thinking the same thing. I was in more of the popular crowd. I guarantee that none of the other little groups ever dealt with other kids trying to put drugs in their pockets or were "peer pressured" into drinking or doing drugs. It's actually laughable. Where did that idea ever even come from?! I don't even think the "stoners" would've peer pressured each other. The only group that I can see doing any peer pressuring is the drinker group. I can kind of see drugs & harder alcohols being kinda pushed on other people. Why? Because it's the nature of alcohol mixed with certain personalities. Some people are more aggressive. Then you have the drinkers whose inhibitions are lowered and they are more susceptible to try drugs that others are offering or their friends got ahold of & want to try/do with a certain friend or bf/gf. As for any other scenario in an any other group? I don't see it happening and it certainly didn't happen to any kids that I knew of. None of us drank alcohol & there was none at any parties we went to. We weren't of age until 18 & it seems like we all abided by that. We were actually a very good group of kids.

This was a good one. We didn't get these where I lived. I'm only just discovering them. I love them. We were however lucky enough to get the very first season's of Degrassi Junior High. This was long before the reboot that was in the U.S. and turned to absolute trash. I mean, where I come from, Grade 8's or do NOT date the 11's or senior's. Oh, we didn't go by freshman etc. We just went by grade number. I noticed that was a big thing with the new Degrassi as the season's progressed. Students in grade 8 or 9 dating kids in grade 12! We did have one or two grade 9's dating seniors. The seniors were drinkers and smokers. Degrassi also began a hard push for the lmnop club, where everyone was jumping into beds or relationships with same sex or even more kinky than that. Such a shame that they turned Degrassi into a smutty soap opera for children. Actually, I don't recall adult soap's ever being as blatantly perverse as Degrassi turned out to be. What a shame.

States are to send all drug tests to the medical review officer, who then tests for all substances, they then call the applicants, and request a valid script. With that being said, I've known people who have tests positive for substances they weren't prescribed, and later are hired for other jobs after testing clean. They don't share any of that info to a state wide data base to prevent someone from ever getting hired again. It just doesn't work that way.

I remember watching this back in the day and wondering why the kid with the false possible's family was so forgiving as mine would have sued the school district into oblivion. Oh wait a minute that is *exactly* what is implied at 35:30.

@@debbiepotter6413 Actually they were they just tended to be more nuisance level then things that hit the papers. Around this time 60 minutes had a segment on a guy who, I kid you not, lived off making nuisance lawsuits - high enough that it was worth his time but low enough that it cost more to fight him..

the way they did the drug test is not how it is supposed to be done, just saying! I had to do drug tests for jobs and they are very strict with how it's done. very easy for then to mix up the samples for sure

This movie was relevant at the time. But science has proven that these tests are sometimes needed even relied on. There have been a lot of improvements and reliability with these tests. It’s different and the world has evolved. I understand the moral of this story. But in today’s world it is standard!

Say you’re hiring someone to take care of your children on a regular basis ... not only would you check references, you’d probably drug test them! I would. Any intelligent, concerned parent who is worth their salt WOULD !!!! Not only that, you may place cameras in different rooms all around the house. I WOULD!!!! And I’m not ashamed to admit it! And like that one woman said, “even if there were a perfect test, humans still run them”. But that goes both ways. People try to beat drug tests all the time.

If you don't own the copyrights to this video, then you don't have the RIGHT to put a COPY on KZfaq, Einstein. This isn't a book report, and copyright isn't the same as plagiarism where you can just cite your sources and you'll be fine. People OWN this thing, and you don't have the legal right to post a copy here.
