Lincoln, Illinois is a town that Abraham Lincoln helped establish. It was the first town named after the 16th president of the U.S. Historic Route 66 also goes through Lincoln. However, Lincoln has struggled economically as the population continues to be in decline. Seems to be the case with darn near every small town in Illinois.
