I lived near Tabata station for almost a year and I was just waiting for Chris to talk about it see what he would find... as expected, nothing. Actually if you go in the first week of January the nearby Togaku-ji temple is the the start (or end) of the Yanaka Shichifukujin meguri (course to visit 7 temples dedicated to the 7 gods of luck). The only other thing I know is that there a scene in the anime movie Weathering With You that take place close to Tabata station.

I've watched many AIJ videos and of course enjoy them very much. I know this video broke you my friend, BUT I feel this is probably one of the BEST and MOST INFORMATIVE Tokyo-based videos you've done to date sir!!! I just LANDED back home from a 10-day trip in Tokyo and my wife and I can attest that the Yamanote Line was our best friend throughout the trip as we stayed only 8-mins away from Ueno station. Honestly after seeing this, we wish we saw this video BEFORE we left, so we could experience the "off-beaten" locations like the cemetary and the cat-town!! But its okay it just leaves us wanting to do more next trip. We love exploring Tokyo AS CLOSE to the train stations as possible for ease of navigation. This video was BRILLIANT as well as unique. TOUGHEN UP AND DO MORE JR LINES videos!! Onigai shimasu!! Arigato!!

Chris! If you are looking for OG walkmans to listen to or use as a prop, there are thrift stores like Hard Off that sell them for okay prices. I personally have multiple that dont go above $80, but I had to repair a few (usually the rubber band that rots from 30/40 years of age).

Seldom have I been more jealous of someone not being handicapped (as in, being able to take a walk and taking a train without asking some bloke to heave your wheelchair on and off said train). Keep it up, Chris. Thanks for showing us around.

Your videos are always a two-edged sword for me. So fun to watch and brilliantly filmed that my yearning for Japan flares up so high I end up in tears and with an aching heart.

This is a great video!! I love the variety of experiences at each station. Also Chris was really on top of it with his puns/dad jokes. I'm halfway through the video and I've chuckled at every single one 💙

I'm in Tokyo this week and I'm happy to say I've been to a few of the places you've mentioned already! The Nezu Shrine was one of the first places I went and I enjoyed how beautiful and peaceful it was. I'm definitely going to have to check out that burger place though! Cheers!

Glad to see the Takadanobaba Mikado Game Center featured. I stumbled across it when I was taking the Yamanote line from Ikebukuro to Shinjuku and was looking up nearby retro game arcades. Lo and behold, one of the best in all of Tokyo was at the next stop

Chris I said this about the video with you and Pete going up to Hokaido getting the mug fixed, but this is my new best video that you've ever released. It is SO well edited and so many unique little things here and there. Can't wait for that inevitable proper film of yours to release

I'm gonna sing the praises of Takanawa Gateway Station: It's the closest Yamanote stop to Sengakuji , resting place of the 47 Ronin! On top of that, on your way to Sengakuji, there's a coffee shop called Forest Stand Sengakuji that does lovely coffee!
