I do not think throughout history there has been such admiration for a man as we have sighed for having towards Elvis. He is still enigmatic and present in his spirit., To think that every year since 1980 about 800,000 people visit his estate in Memphis Tennessee is inconceivable.

He was a triple threat and he felt so obligated to take care of all his friends and family financially which was part of his downfall because to keep it up he had to do show after show after show and had to take meds to keep him going then meds to let him sleep. So many in his inner circle used him especially The Colonel. He was such a talent and a beautiful person inside and out

Yes, they all were using EP right down to his daddy! Cilla's father made him sign agreement papers that he would marry her when she became of age or, pay them a million dollars if they let her come to Graceland, EP didn't want her to come to Graceland but, she kept writing him letters and he was dating Aneta Woods at the time, Aneta found her letters to Elvis begging him to please talk to her parents, she was sure they would let her come if he would so he finally did so, they let her come but only if he signed that dang agreement that he would marry her and, she tried every way she could think of to get him to have sex with her while she was under age, EP would not do that until after they were married. He didn't want to marry her but, the Colonel told him it would look better on his career if he did so, he married her even though he didn't want to. He wanted his freedom, Cilla and her parents wanted his money, they knew how famous EP was that's why they let her come when she talked into asking them! His body guards also used him and, Colonel Parker used like a Circus clown for money, I don't like any of them because of what they did to EP and, hurt him so much!

@naomiwarner7117 You've got it in one, she weedled her way into that first meeting, and she knew how to act, demure and innocent, she knew that's what he wanted especially after his mother died, she had her hair makeup and clothes as he wanted to hang on to him, no he didn't want to marry her, but had too, there was no normal marriage but she hung on and on and on and on till she had eyes and used her name on becoming an actress, which didn't last long. She was kept then on graceland money, nearly a million dollars a year, and of course her and her child's maintenance, and everything she got in her divorce. She showed her true self in her actions against her granddaughter after Lisa Marie died and left every thing to her daughter, and she won, how I don't know, breaking a will is never done. She's using the same demure and innocence when interviewed, she's in her 70s now and trying to look in her 20s, it doesn't work....

Just found this, my Dad who was EP biggest in his heart felt love for him. Dad sang like Elvis and would sing this song to my Mom. When Elvis passed my Dad cried, we listened to Elvis for 3 solid days. First time I saw my Dad with broken a 💔 . At 63 I still remember waking my Dad up to tell him Elvis had passed. If I knew then what I know now, I would not have been the one who told him 😢 Seriously, my Dad's loves were #1 Elvis #2 Mom #3 us kids. I could go on and on, I lost my Dad a year ago 💔, at his celebrations of life, you guessed it , it was also a celebration of Elvis. .

Oh nowwwwww you're helping me wake up to my Elvis. I loved this man (as a kid) with room filled of pics and posters. I have every album he made, I will never be without them . I sit here easily remembering the THREE live concerts I was at. The drums beating, Elvis has entered the building. I've loved Elvis every day since. 1978, I'm getting married and we walk out hand in hand to The Hawaiian Wedding song. Elvis indeed, lives, in this gals heart. Looks like he touched you, too. ❤

Jane H commenting ….. This is one of the most beautiful songs that Elvis sang. His vocal control. His breath control. He has a three octave voice. I cannot think of any other singer that has a more beautiful tone of voice than Elvis. Now you will be able to understand why 47 years after his death, Elvis still has thousands of fans worldwide who still love him so much. I’ve been a big fan of his for almost sixty years. His beautiful voice just sears the heart. I do love your Reactions when you are listening to Elvis. You have a great sense of humour. Elvis loved to clown around too. He is so greatly missed.

There are many Elvis songs that you need to listen to from the studio recording. They are beautiful and perfect. When he does a live performance he hams it up, acts like a fool, changes the lyrics. Once you know the song, then you can let him entertain you.

Born and raised in tupelo Mississippi then moved to Memphis. Elvis always said he loved the South. In Memphis at Graceland there is an old diner that's for so much Southern goodness. Little personal jukeboxes on the table. Malts. Strawberry malts chocolate malt malts. ❤️❤️❤️❤️😎

On Elvis being on the Ed Sullivan show, he tended to gyrate his hips when he sang his faster songs to Ed made sure the camera only showed him above his waist. Times have changed huh? He was also a fan favorite with girls. He was thought to be very handsome. Try "Are you Lonesome tonight?"

In Forrest Gump you probably didn't realize that they had it that Elvis got his hip swivel from Forrest when he stayed at the house and Forrest was young in his leg braces. I was introduced to Elvis, his music and movies, by my mom. She loved her some Elvis. She also introduced me to the Beach Boys, Jan and Dean, The Doors, as well as multiple other groups from the 60's and 70's. My siblings introduced me to Hendrix, Skynyrd, Black Sabbath, etc. My dad introduced me to early country like Charlie Pride, Marty Robbins, Kenny and Dolly. I was lucky enough to have a well rounded music selection as I discovered Hair bands, rap and R&B on my own which I introduced my mom too and she loved just as much as I like the R&B from the 60's she introduced me too.
