1.) Limit 2 per person (feel free to request 2 more when yours are posted)
2.) Only public domain hymns (Pre-1923)
3.) Include author/composer and date of composition
4.) Be patient. This is one of many hobbies of mine and not a full time job. It may take a few weeks to a couple years to get yours done.

Keep in mind that the main purpose of these videos is to help folks learn harmony parts to hymns and not to sound perfect. These recordings will sound a touch raw for a few reasons; I am not a trained singer, I am using very simple recording hardware, my recording 'studio' is a couple of spare mattresses set on end to eliminate unwanted sound reverberations.
If you enjoy the way that these hymns are sang and want to experience them in person, stop by just about any church of Christ and they'll likely be singing them the same way. Without instruments.
My recording process:
-Record each part on a Rode NT1-A to a Zoom H4 recorder
-Some pitch correction in Melodyne
-Mix in Mixcraft 6
-Combine audio and sheet music in Corel VideoStudio X7
-Music is typeset in Finale 2012 by me or borrowed from PDHymns.com

Hi Elliott! I play guitar and like to sing, including in group settings, so in that sense you can say I'm a "song leader," but without the official title. When I said I "tried doing this hymn," I meant I tried singing it in its four parts from the original scores. I had wanted to do that for a long time, but never took action. Then recently I learned this hymn. As I sang it over, somehow I felt inspired to learn and sing its four parts (which led to an impromptu, amateurish recording session on Audacity with overdubbing). I enjoyed it so much! There are so many intricacies in the original scores which I simply miss by only singing the melody and playing simplified guitar chords. It was like discovering a whole new dimension. And then I discovered your channel, and specifically this hymn, literally 2 days later. You had just posted it 4 days before, or 2 days before my own epiphany with this hymn. Thank the Lord for arranging this wonderful little encounter!

I don't have PDF files of these saved and don't really have time/resources to host them. There are some great resources already out there for sheet music though. 1st and foremost is - buy a hymnal! 😁 All of these recordings come directly from church hymnals. There are quite a few great ones out there. This particular one (and many more on the channel) came from one called Praise for the Lord. 2nd, Hymnary.org is a wonderful resource. There's also a really great site that another brother in Christ has created and hosts - www.pdhymns.com/. Lot's of good stuff on there. And many of the same arrangements I have here.

The doctrine of the Trinity which was established in the church by the council of Nice, A. D. 325. This doctrine destroys the personality of God, and His Son Jesus Christ Our Lord. The infamous, measures by which it was forced upon the church which appear upon the pages of ecclesiastical history might well cause every believer in that doctrine to blush. -ARSH March 6, 1855, page 185.34 -J. As fundamental errors, we might class with this counterfeit sabbath other errors which Protestants have brought away from the Catholic church, such as sprinkling for baptism, *the trinity,* the consciousness of the dead and eternal life in misery. The mass who have held these fundamental errors, have doubtless done it ignorantly; but can it be supposed that the church of Christ will carry along with her these errors till the judgment scenes burst upon the world? We think not. “Here are they [in the period of a message given just before the Son of man takes his place upon the white cloud, Revelation 14:14] that keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.” This class, who live just prior to the second advent, will not be keeping the traditions of men, neither will they be holding fundamental errors relative to the plan of salvation through Jesus Christ. -J. S. White RH September 12, 1854

That God is the fountain and source of immortality is plain from the statement of Paul. He speaks thus of God the Father: 'Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen nor can see; to whom be honor and power everlasting; Amen.' 1 Tim. 6:16. This text is evidently designed to teach that the self existent God is the only being who, of Himself, possesses this wonderful nature. Others may possess it as derived from Him, but he alone is the fountain of immortality. "Our Lord Jesus Christ is the source of this life to us. 'For as the Father hath life in Himself, so hath He given to the Son to have life in Himself.' John 5:26. 'As the living Father hath sent Me, and I live by the Father; so he that eateth me, even he shall live by Me.' John 6:57. The Father gives us this life in His Son. 'And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life and this life is in His Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.' 1Jn 5:11,12. These Scriptures do clearly indicate that Christ is the source of endless life, and that those only have this who have Christ.” -J. N. Andrews, RH, January 27, 1874 p. 52

"The doctrine of the Trinity" If possible, I'd like to stay away from writers that I don't personally know. So I'll stick with scripture. As a simple Christian, I am not aware of a "doctrine of the Trinity". Through my personal study, God appears to have three forms that scripture identifies. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Is this incorrect? If this is correct, and I'd be happy to provide scriptures as evidence, then calling the triad of forms a "trinity" could/would be correct. The word trinity comes from the Latin trinitas or trinus which means - triad or threefold. According to scripture, God does exist in threefold forms. I have no issue with calling that a trinity, for trinity is only a word. Now, if there is also a separate and non-Biblical doctrine that goes along with "The Trinity", I shun that and only keep the simple meaning of the Trinity - three in one.

@@acappellahymns peace be unto you my brother. Our Saviour Jesus Christ came on a mission to this earth to declare who God, His eternal Father is. The greatest teacher ever known lovingly taught mankind the true knowledge of His Heavenly Father. His testimony in the Gospels tells us plainly what we are to understand about God The Father and His Only Begotten Son and The Holy Spirit of God Prove all things. [Biblically examine, test] -1 Thessalonians 5:21 Merriam Webster since 1828 Definition of doctrine 1a: a principle or position or the body of principles in a branch of knowledge or system of belief : DOGMA Catholic doctrine b: a statement of fundamental government policy especially in international relations the Truman Doctrine claw : a principle of law established through past decisions d: a military principle or set of strategies e: something that is taught From Merriam Websters and others the definition a doctrine is a teaching Trinity The Christian *"doctrine"* [teaching] of the Trinity (Latin: Trinitas, lit. 'triad', from Latin: trinus "threefold") [1] holds that God is one God, and exists in the form of three coeternal and consubstantial [coequal] persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. The three persons are distinct, yet are one "substance, essence or nature" (homoousios). -Wikipedia The trinity doctrine/teaching is a tradition of the Universal/Catholic Church and every false religion throughout history and even today have a trinity for their godhead. The Bible states clearly with thoroughness and exactness that there is only... ...One God The Father and His Only Begotten Son Jesus Christ. *John 3:16,17* states this emphatically. A Search of the Bible from cover to cover will reveal that there is Only one Throne that God and His Son share. The Holy Spirit is God The Father's Spirit that He gives to the Son. We recieve God's Holy Spirit through His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ. For of Him, and through Him, and to Him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen. *-Romans 11:36* The trinity teaching states that there are 3 gods, coequal and coeternal, meaning that each one can fulfill the roles of the other.. The coequal, coeternal statement denies the relationship of the Father and The Son. The trinity doctrine makes a 3rd seperate god called "god the Holy Spirit." Again search the Bible from one end to the other and the phrase "God the holy spirit" will not be found. The Catholic Church throughout the dark ages, tortured Christians and burned them at the stake for refusing to accept the doctrine/teaching of the trinity. Why would the early Christians rather be tortured and burned at the stake than confess the belief in a trinity..? I humbly pray that you my brother as well as all true believers will not be satisfied with a superficial teaching of the knowledge of God, and that Our Saviour Jesus Christ would give you a burning desire to "prove all things" and gain the True Knowledge of God... I bid you my brother, Peace and Blessings The trinity doctrine... Howbeit in *vain* do they worship Me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. *-Mark 7:7* *-Matthew 15:9*

I think that, somehow, the word "trinity" has received a bad name perhaps because of an association with a particular belief system. On one hand, there is simply the word "trinity" which comes from the word triad or threefold in Latin. Does God exist in 3 forms that we know of? Yes. While the New Testament does not describe God as a "Trinity", there are triadic descriptions that are impossible to ignore. On the other hand, there are "Trinitarians" that take this to its extreme. I don't understand everything that they believe or practice and I don't need to know. What I do know is that scripture describes the existence of God in three forms. But I also firmly believe that God can exist in any form He desires.

@@acappellahymns when God, the One True God, begat His Son, He gave Him His Spirit. @@pangorbalm8086 I do not know Nader Monsour but if you have links to specific materials, you're more than welcome to share. While I am willing to discuss this further, please know that comment sections are not good places for deep discovery, debate, or research. I'm sure there are many things you feel about this subject that could not possibly be put down in words in a comment section. Likewise, I have a lot of thoughts on this that I can't possibly put down in single-comment form. With that said, I should also mention that I feel like there are better "hills to die on" regarding scripture - such as the process of salvation. At the end of the day, is my soul in danger because of my personal understanding of how God exists? No, likely not. Now, I'll try to explain a bit more: In the beginning of scripture, Genesis described this - "26 And God said, Let us make man in our image..." A reader does not have to look very far to see that there's not a simple answer for it. And modern scholars still debate this issue from both extremes. One side being those that believe that God only exists in one singular form and the other side believing that God only exists in three forms with God the Father being the one true God. I'm personally somewhere in between - or perhaps not even in between but on a completely different mindset. I believe that God the Father, God the Son, and the Holy Spirit exist. My current understanding is that they are all the same God but also understand that those three forms generally take on different roles. If you were to ask me if they are three different entities or "persons", I would say "no - but sort of". More importantly, I believe that God can take on any form that He desires or no form at all. Now, instead of giving me what Nador Monsour thinks about this, give me what you personally think about it - from your personal study.
