How beautiful! I got hooked on crystal calcite back when I watched my favorite fossil collectors finding fossilized sea-shells filled with golden honey calcite, much of it in "dogtooth crystal" form. Now I see it comes in different shades and white and clear--very versatile isn't it? Say hey to the Boss and Pedro for us, and thanks for taking us along with you on your adventures!

I absolutely love the way you make your videos. They're very informative and very. I also appreciate the way that you show what you find up close to the camera and give us examples and names of what they are. I have been recently digging in my yard because I end up finding a Geode. since then I have found many different kinds of rocks and crystals I don't know really anything about him or if they're worth money or really anything on them. I have always been a rock collector not necessarily knowing what I collected lol. So I have a few questions.... my first question is what is the best way to clean raw minerals and quarts crystals? My second question is how can you tell a Geode from a normal Rock on the outside?

Hello it's my first time commenting to you. I live in Brisbane Queensland and would trade places with you as I miss how I used to go out just over 40 years ago collecting stones. My Dad stopped the car once at Aratula which is about halfway between Brisbane and Warwick. Maybe the car was overheating I forget why we stopped but just off the bitumen road on the side we saw agates. They were not as good quality as the ones in Agate creek but okay. Close to where we were parked, we found a gully or dried creek bed. Going through some barbed wire we got down into it to find heaps of stones. One weekend, when we were there a man on horseback asked my Dad why we were there. After my Dad explained we were allowed to come back as often as we wanted. I wanted to ask you where you are from because my Mum was Czech and came to Australia just after the war? You have an accent.

I think the "bad calcite" shown at @8:30 and referred to as quartz, is actually a Feldspar. I cringed when you poured acid on the beautiful clear, naturally etched calcite samples. They have value as is to many collectors. And depending on the time they were exposed to your acid they might have been ruined (or ruined the natural etch from acidic rain and ground water). It only takes a little drop on any sample to determine a reaction. White Vinegar works well too and isn't nearly as destructive. Acids are great when you want to separate minerals or remove minerals from calcite.

I've got lots of beautiful calcite and I have used iron out on them and washed with sop and water but they look dried out not polished looking..even the "gemier" ones...what did I do wrong

I don't understand how calcite is so pervasive around the world. Even water with a ph of 6.9 should have dissolved it long ago. Rain water is slightly acidic thanks to global pollution.

I have a question for you. I bought a Tiffany yellow quartz. When I asked them, if it was natural because they had lovely green quartz at Tiffany.com. When I went to the boutique, it had a very light green color, not even close to the picture at their website. I was thinking if it is natural, it is most probably a darker hue would be available somewhere. I was told it was actually heated amethyst not quartz. When I googled the heating process of amethyst, I came across an article that said if exposed to extreme heat, it might become colorless someday. It now made me worried and I want to return the ring. Please share your thoughts on this. I don’t want to spend money on something that would become colorless/worthless someday. Thank you!
