Thanks. I found this useful but I ran into a little issue adding a second SSD on my PH317-53-798L. Basically, the 2nd screw (the one to the righthand side) would not shift. Also the screwdriver I used was almost just turning yet it got good purchase on the left hand screw and they are the same size screws. I tried different screwdrivers and also using pliers to turn the screw but could not get it to shift. However, my board is slightly different to one in the vid and there was a rectangular piece of metal under the screw that was then screwed into the board just below the SSD. I was able to remove 'that' screw then rotate the metal to the right slightly to accommodate the SSD. I screwed everything back in place. Its not perfect as the horseshoe cut out on the end of the SSD is not flush around the righthand screw but I was able to get everything secured and the SSD works fine. Just posting this in case someone has a similar problem.

My brother had some little screwdriver with a magnetic tip when we built our very first gaming desktops. Would something like that be recommended?

Hi I was wondering if it's okay to change/ remove the pre-installed m.2 ssd drive because I was planning to get 2 new 1tb m.2 nvme ssd + plus the 2 tb hdd hybrid that was in the video to get a total of 4tb storage, or is there a limit how much storage I can upgrade? Also will it remove pre-existing acer programs like turbo mode etc, and do I have to reinstall windows and whatnot if I did remove it? Srry for all the questions and thank you for the video!

Hi, do you know if all 2019 helios 300 versions have upgrade-able RAM? I have a friend who wants to buy the helios 300 with i5-9300h and 1660ti, but it only comes with 8gb RAM in the UK amazon. Also in the product description it's stated that the Maximum Supported RAM is only 8GB, hence making upgrading the RAM impossible. This must be a mistake right? I thought they all have the same motherboard just different components.

Wow you are still answering questions. SSD's are in their own separate case and not open like an HDD or SSHD will they still fit and use the same rubber mount? I'm going to continue scrolling to see if I find the same question.

I have a a couple of questions. Can you change the refresh rate to 60hz IF I wanted to? Would it damage the monitor if I do that? Also, if I do a fresh install of windows, would it make the turbo button useless?

I have the helios 300 2019 as well. I got the 16GB (2x8) RAM model, however I want to upgrade to 32gb, but I don't know if both slots are already occupied and I need to completely replace them, or if I can use any other free slots. In the task manager it says I am using 2/2 slots so I think that answers my question, so what would be a good solution to opt for 32gb???

Out of the four listed SSDs in the description (I'm assuming they are all compatible with the 2019 Helios), which would you recommend most highly? I noticed that two (Samsung 860 EVO and Crucial MX500) were SATA, and the other two (Samsung 970 EVO and WD Black) were NVMe. Is there a difference between the two types, or are they relatively the same? I'm only looking to add 500 GB right now, but if one is noticeably better than the other (SATA and NVMe), it'll help me narrow down which one would be best.
