Thanks for all the videos, they were what helped me decide to buy the Helios 300 from amazon yesterday, and I actually just got it a few hours ago today. I remembered seeing this video in your list and thought I would check it out, as I just remembered that I recently upgraded the hard drive on my PS4 from the original stock 500gb one to the 1tb sshd, and that I've had that 500gb one just sitting in the box in my closet! I'm gonna go install it right now, I was so glad I remembered I had that thing, better than sitting around on the couch and sticking your hands down the cushions and finding old money that fell out of your pockets! 😁

45 degree angle on RAM saved my life. Had no idea how to reinsert the ram after I removed it to fix another bug and it wouldn’t start correctly(cuz it was never inserted properly. Great video and explanation. Will be even more useful when I get my extra sshd

Another great video! Do you think the same side cooling design will perform worse than the 2 way cooling? My personal thought is that this cooling system has both pros and cons than the traditional method. The con is when both GPU and CPU is under load, the 2 in 1 heat pipe solution needs to travel all the way from the GPU and pass through CPU then exhaust which means longer distance for the heat to travel so less cooling rate. This is also a pro, since both CPU and GPU is connect under the same heat pipe which means when running CPU only or GPU only tasks the performance will be much better. Because it will use all 3 heat pipes and 2 fans to cool only the CPU or GPU. However this is a gaming laptop, which means both CPU and GPU will be constantly under load during gaming. So I conclude this setup is more suitable for a workstation than a gaming machine. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I bought this laptop from amazon i received it and went to put in my hard drive in the bay when i opened the door there was no caddy not cable to attach my hard drive but i got the little baggie with the 4 screws. Contacted acer and they said they would send out a kit for me so i'm waiting to see whats happen , other than that i love this laptop i made my purchase based on the good reviews you gave on the laptop highly happy with my purchase. thanks Galaxy Tech Review. Hi, I m from india. I bought this laptop from an online store. the product i received had a HDD already installed in the secondry compartment ,and when i removed it and boot the laptop there was no 1tb space available in my predator. so does this mean that my internal hdd is faulty ??? or that compartment itself is the main storage compartment? And if that is the case do i have to remove the already installed 1 TB HDD and add a 2 TB HDD to upgrade it?

Don't buy this laptop. Mine had the bottom hardisk caddy and sata cable missing so I can't install a second drive. And I am unable to get the parts! It looks like there are many victims. :( Buyer beware!

hi, my acer only came with the ssd when i purchased it. if i put the HDD, will the laptop automatically recognize it like plug and play, or do i have to do something else like install drivers etc? thanks!

Helpful video I have a doubt, the Predator has 1Tb HDD and 128 GB SSD by default and my question is that can i still upgrade my SSD+ HDD by 2 TB along with the default storage space i have. In total I mean (1tb hdd+128 gb SSD+2 TB(ssd+hdd) ? Or there is a limit to extend it?

My model also did not come with the HDD cable and Caddy, requested for a kit from acer support. they sent me instructions however for the part where i have to open up the lower case and look for the HDD cable connector, it does show the pictures. do you know where the HDD cable connector is in order to connect the HDD cable? and how should i place it so that it can still show through the HDD opening even when the lower case is on.

Once you add the new HDD (In my case a 1TB 7200 Firecuda), after turning the laptop back on is there anything you need to do to get the laptop to recognize the new HDD? Is there a display-hinge cover that you need to remove before you remove the back plate? I recall that you did that in the VX15 video, but that step was not shown here. Also, in the VX15 video you pulled the back plate from the front. How does it go in the Helios? Thanks.
