Today I am talking about the budget all season tires I put on the new Grandsport wheels on my C5 corvette. This is the cheapest set of tires I have ever purchased and that’s saying a lot considering I put Nankang NS20 tires on my old Porsche 911

I have a set. As a matter of fact, I just had them put back on for summer season. They didn’t do well for me during NY snow seasons so I took them off and use dedicated winter tires but overall they’re good tires. Nice looking on your Corvette.

I started running Cosmo's Mucho Macho tires a couple of years ago and absolutely was blown away. They have a UTQG rating of 300, have so far gone about 30k, are firm, stable and comfortable ride without being harsh. Great dry grip and excellent wet. Like you, I find that the balancing may be a little tougher on these tires. Great review, thanks!

I have these on the front of my scion for daily driving. 235/35/19 Quiet, minimal hydroplaning, lasts as long as anything else. They don't make my ride any softer and but I wouldn't expect them to at all. Haven't tried in snow as I live in a warm climate. They look good and from a distance, I have to double check they aren't the more expensive tires I put on the rear. I had these for a year and highly recommend for daily driving. I lost air pressure unexplainably and didn't notice it until I had warn a rut in the sidewall. Its holding air for now so I think it must have been a random fluke. The temperatures around here did drop dramatically last week. (95F degree highs to 48F low within less than 10 days) I'm about to buy another and thought I would leave a review somewhere

I Had the same issues with the art sport 2 with 265/30r19 on my Audi TTS Quattro. They always had issues required quite a bit of weight to balance them. Had to rebalance them ever 2k-2500 miles. They had great traction and cornering. However The rears both had issues where the belts failed and wore flat spots into the tread.

Bluegrass Woodsmen how do you like the federals?!
@budgetoutlaws9978
@budgetoutlaws9978 4 жыл бұрын
I've tried quite a lot of federals. The 595 SS tires have a very soft sidewall and shouldn't be used over 45 series. I have them on the back of my daily and they wander due to the soft sidewall. Grip and life are both good though for a daily. I prefer the Firehawks that I have at the front. They will spin predictably on a high powered machine which is impressive for such a budget tire. The Federal EVOs are a great tire but not very many sizes are made. A fantastic performance street tire with occasional caynon or track use. The 595 RSR-RR and RS-RR are both great 50/50 tires for those street machines that hit the track often. I have them on my orange car. The Federal FZ-201 is a pure track tire. Great for the weekend warrior that doesn't want to spend the money on R comps.

I bought a full set for my 2010 Toyota Venza with 20 inch rims. Bought 2019, and its now January 2021, the tires are toast now. Just had a minor DUSTING of snow and was getting stuck literally everywhere. Barely 20,000 miles on them. They were rotated every oil change as well. I was using Goodyear Eagle RSA before this. I got 60,000 miles out of those tires. Im glad you had a good experience with them, but i wouldn't reccomend these to my worst enemy lol. They also shake and have alot of road noise. I cant wait to get these off my car.
@thedriverscorner

Definitely agree! I have these on my 2018 Camaro and so far so good. They actually run quieter than the good year eagle f1’s the car originally had and grip better in a straight line. However I did notice the initial turn in was better on the good years. But for almost $200 less per tire I have zero complaints! Would highly recommend.

@thedriverscorner

The tread wear rating is pretty high for someone expecting serious grip. They work well for summer weather spirited driving, although my preference for a street tire to go canyon carving would be a DWS.. but they aren’t in the same price stratosphere. I would say warmed up, in nice warm weather these would do well for spirited driving.. as far as length of service.. I’m getting a lot of miles on mine with no obvious signs of wear..

As a young man I installed and maintained wheel balance machines. Its amazing how many service centers skip service on the wheel balance machine and they fall out if wack. Technology is wonderful but if these machines are not serviced like every six months depending on use etc..they will show or could show false zeros Having trouble with a tire balancing first question to the shop would be to please bring up the date of their last wheel balance machine servicing. Good luck and its just a possibility.
