At the last event, I headed out early to test on 2 different sets of Achilles tires. The ATR sport 1s, and the ATR Sport 2s. We all know Achilles makes a super competitive tire for Formula Drift, and the 2233 was a flop, so how are their mid range tier tires? Watch this video to find out!

I have the sport 2 on my HHR SS LDK swap, FBO, etc, tuned by zzp at 25 psi and they are great tires. I only drove them twice in the rain since I don't drive my car in the snow/rain but I got caught lacking but the tires gripped fine even at high speeds. Hey! Great series. I did a ton of research prior to going with the federal ss595 as my go to tire. The other tire I found pretty good was the nankang ns-20 and now ns-25. Typically a bit cheaper than the federals, definitely less grip and a few less laps. I never did the calculation to cost/lap though. My primary concern is seat time! Hopefully the nankangs come into the series sometime!

#505 thanks man! I wouldn't get any of these for winter use to be honest. Most of them are summer / high performance. When they get cold they get hard and even more slippery. For the random snow we get here, inwould get a solid all season like a lionheart lh503 or even better some blizzaks or dedicated winter tire like the Nokian WR G4. Hope that helped!

*Just purchased a Factory Certified 2016 Toyota Avalon Hybrid with 31,000 miles on it🚘🚖 **allabout.wiki/Achilles** The original tires were Michelin Primacy MXV4's. They cost $195.00 and were on back-order from Tire Rack. I drove the car with the Michelin's for 2000 miles and knew that I needed to replace them now because the wet traction was terrible at 33000 miles. Thank You Amazon, got these Milestar MS932 Sport All Season Radial Tire - 215/55R17 98V at $65.00 per tire and they were drop shipped and installed at a nearby Sears in under one hour. On My initial drive home, on all kinds of road surfaces, and at 2mile straight road segment that allowed me to drive in sports mode I hit 150 mph and it stuck like glue to the road. It is supposed to rain tomorrow and I will find out about wet traction, which I am most concerned about. But dry traction with these tires allows me to fly like a bat escaping Hell, there is almost nothing on the road that can keep up, even the motorcycles are left in the dust.*

Not a review but on my Cobalt SS, I've owned 3 sets of the Crosswinds. Only because I was getting a smoking deal at a local warehouse for $50 a tire. They're a decent daily tire that do great in rain. But the sidewalls are mushy & make cornering kinda scary lol. Also for them to be so slippery, they don't seem to last a long time. I base these for folks getting into drifting that probably dont have power mods. The issue with more power is anything for me over 350 (only 100 more), I never get more than 4 laps out of any tire regardless of brand, and a lot of times even less depending on length of track. At fd power levels it's more like 2 laps per set.
