I purchased 4 of the ATR Sport 2 (2) 225/45/19 and (2) 245/40/19 about 40k miles ago and they have been amazing, They are quiet on the road, they are quiet when you spin your tires (you really cant hear them at all, you just feel the rear end get out from under you) the wear on these tires are also great and for such a soft tire. As for wet conditions, I would say that new they work about a 4 out of 5. all in all I paid $275 delivered for all 4 delivered and $40 to get them mounted and balanced and I couldnt be happier so i just ordered another set. I highly recommend these tires to anyone before they go up in price, which i have a feeling they will very soon.

I've had the ATR sports on a Maxima and a Genesis Sedan and they're grippy and great. I actually found them very quiet as well compared to Pirellis and especially the Michelin Energy Saver tires my new car came with. We have a lot of construction around my city, so I also had TWO bolts in these tires but they never lost any air. It may have just been luck because they never popped or lost air despite bolts going right through the entire rubber and getting stuck in there. I really like them and there's zero sign of wear after about 2 years of using them.

Just bought a set of these with SUPER low expectations....the dry grip is great, they're quieter than my Continental DWS's ever were and they feel great to drive on. Interested to see how wet traction goes, particularly after what you mentioned in your video.

I had the ATR sports as well and I was thinking about getting the sport 2's. This makes my decision a whole lot easier. The ATR sports are great tires for the money never had a problem with them and got 35k out of them.

Absolutely fantastic review. Due to cost and availability, I ended up ordering ATR Sport for my front (275/35/18) and ATR Sport 2 for the rear (275/40/18). I'll be happy to share my experience with them compared to the current set I have, Continental Extreme Contact.

//// They are both good tires. I have had them both too though not at the same time. Be mindful of the rotation direction on the side of the tires. The tread pattern requires to roll in on direction only and it is indicated on the side wall of the tire. Thanks and enjoy.

I got the ATR Sport for my genesis coupe 3.8 Ultimate, I had a puncture on the bridgestone potenzas ( front tires) so I stumbled upon these, I was expecting a semi decent tire because like a lot of people in my area I had never heard of achilles, when I first got the tire on my reaction was ok at best, but after weeks of driving the tyres got really sticky, honestly ( this is my opinion ) on the back roads that's I've pushed my car these ATR sport tyres handle as good and sometimes even better than the potenzas* when they're properly warmed up of course) over all, I'm very happy with this tyre, now I should ask, how would you compare the on the limit grip of the ATR Sport 2 VS the ATR Sport?

Christian Yulfo You are right about them being "sticky". Good grip on these tires. I am still using and enjoying them. Texas is mostly dry and hot but this year it has been very wet and they work well in heavy rain. I think both tires have good grip but I think the compound on the Sport 2 is actually slightly better so I prefer the Sport 2's but they are only slightly better. Either tire is a good deal especially under $100 a tire. I am very happy with mine. So far on both sets of tires I have yet to experience a flat or any other type of malfunction. Interesting, I saw on another site, same brand an Achilles, said it had 12/32's tread new.. idk, just more where i thought a tire should be anyway..maybe check that gauge or chuck it..lol

Good review. Found these tires on eBay for $66 each for 18"s. My Nexen tires on my truck are bald, so I think these Achilles will be a good, cheap replacement.

This tire very good and cheap..i used for my volvo with 20” from 2015 and replaced on 2019..and yeah this tire made in Indonesia at least local tire for me..at my country the road not to good,many hole etc even at highway but thanks achilles build tough and strong tire for our bad quality road. Lil noisy on concerate road,low db on asphalt ,good on wet and dry. They very recommended for 18” up but for 18” low i prefer buy GT Radial.

Hey, im from brazil (sorry for the bad english). I have a kia cadenza and I am choosing a tire that have an effect of lowering my 0-100km/h and quarter mille time. Is the atr sport a good choice? The atr sport 2 isnt avaiable here for the measure of my car tires only the atr "1".

ATR 1 is a shitty rubber. It's a super hard compound and you will easily spin your tires.

I just got these In 255-35-18 they're pretty grippy braking isn't to bad. But the ride comfort and noise is horrible I have coilovers already but these really let you feel every little tiny bump on the road. Maybe it's because it's low profile or I'm just not used to a harder rubber compound. I had winters on for almost 2 years haha so.

heazy87 They hard tires which helps in handling and remember they are "sport" ZR rated tires. They are built for speed and handling. Touring tires would be quieter. Personally I am enjoying them and find them to be a good value. Thanks for commenting and watching.

Yeah i realize that, low profile might make them worse. but yeah i'm pretty satisfied with their performance so far. Are they actually Z rated? because i was told they're technically a "all season tire" which is false because they would be horrible in snow.

heazy87 When I bought them one of my greatest considerations was the Z rating. Nothing worse than owning a car that can do 150+ miles an hour and having a component that would fail and kill you if you went that fast. So I will always buy Z rated tires for this car for that reason. I have used them in ice and snow (the very limited amount we get in Texas) and they worked fine but I am not sure who is telling you they are all season tires. Technically any tire can be an "all season tire" as any tire can be used in any season (with good or bad results). Achilles calls them a high performance tire which as a Z rated tire they are. For $92 a tire I will definitely buy them again. It's hard to beat the value. Thanks and enjoy.

I have gotten my wife a 370z and when we got home from buying it off a guy about an hour away we noticed it needed tires bad. So I called up and they had the achellies I couldn't believe how cheap so I got them put on. My only complaint is the car pulls alot with road groves. Now IDK of that's the car or the tires. I was thinking about trying a different set. Any of you guys ever had problems with cars pulling with road groves?

Check your front end steering components. If the tires were worn there is a good chance your tie rod ends, ball joints, etc. are worn too. Thanks.

Bryan Figueroa Maldonado both ATR Sport and the ATR 2 will last you anywhere in the 30k-40k range depending on how you drive. The ATR 2 is quiter and has a softer side wall so it is more easier to live with. The ATR Sport is still the flagship and is unparalleled in dry and wet weather traction compare to the ATR 2. In rain and dry where the ATR 2 will start to hydroplane or lose traction, the ATR Sport continues to grip the road and push water out of the thred. The ATR Sport is nosier and the side wall is stiffer, so it handles better in corners. I think the rubber is softer in the ATR (even though the markings says they are the same), because after driving on a hot day, little pebbles and dirt will stick just enough on the tire (like a super soft rubber). If you are after a quiet ride get the 2, if you like sporty driving, get the sport. No issues with both for over 35k. I am ordering a set of ATR Sport again to replace the 2.

According to Achilles' website, the ATR Sport 2 are better dry grip, wet grip, and tread life compared to the ATR Sport (1). I'm currently using both of them and I think the Sport 2s are quieter. Grip wise .. its hard to really feel the difference, but I think the ATR Sport 2 are better in both dry and wet.

They are not winter snow tires and I have not tested them in snow as I live in Texas and it rarely snows enough here to drive in it. Check the manufacturers recommendations. Thank you.

They're ok, but I bought these because of an emergency, not enough traction for a high performance bmw. I lose grip/traction everytime I step on the gas too heavy. Definitely ok for the price - for a regular sedan.

My friend had Delintes. Don't recall the specific model but he had trouble in the wet going uphill from a stop on a Brz. Even in the dry they didn't have much grip.
