I found my acorns in North York, Toronto, where I went to school. I felt it was important to hold onto them and sprout them somewhere else if ever the big trees are cut down. "The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now." Thank you again for your help! :D

Meagen Ruttan Hey Meagen, I love your message and thanks for sharing. Such a great quote and so true. The older the tree, the more we are ensured the acorns are both quality, and will grow just as well in a similar growing condition. I hope you can find a good place to plant your acorns, and that they may establish well enough, and live on so someone like yourself may find them in the future and plant more like you have done. It only takes a one single step like you have shown to enhance the lives of many. Congrats and thanks for sharing! JJ84

Thanks for this informative video! I'm developing the theme for my self-actualization brand and, I'm using a sprouting acorn as a symbol for growth! That symbol is dear to me because my dad used it as a symbol for church growth. I learned so much from episode 1! I like the calmness with which you talk about acorns. Your passion definitely comes through! Looking forward to watching the rest of your episodes!

Hi Jeremiah! I was looking for info on how to grow oak from acorns last fall and found out about stratification and have now had two big plastic bags of moist saw dust and acorns in my fridge over winter. Tomorrow I will start planting them in pots to be put out on my balcony, and now found your KZfaq channel. I wish I had found you earlier. GREAT channel. I just love the way you explain everything very methodical. You have also interested me in maple. Thanks for your efforts.

Hi Jeremiah, you once gave me some great advice about an acorn of mine and I am in need of and would so appreciate further advice from you. This acorn was actually a gift from a very special bluejay who I once provided granola to every day, for several months, at my front porch. I would say that at the time, he was probably my closest friend and I think I could say that I was his, too! He had a nest with babies and the female was nervous and always too afraid to come for granola, but always watched from the neighbor's fence. One day, after our daily 'chit chat' visit session (he would come very close and sort of gurgle/tweet, on and on, and it sort of felt like he was communicating how hard it was to be a dad with teenagers or something, but also so obviously appreciative for the best of my morning granola, rain or shine!), he swooped down into the neighbor's yard, came back up to my railing and gently laid down a perfect, beautiful, green acorn and pushed it in my direction...and then he went about his business. I felt so flattered, and so honored. I knew he was gifting this acorn to me, there was no confusion about it. He knew I ate the granola and he wanted to give me some of his food (I felt this communication). I wanted the gift to become a tree that would maybe one day produce acorns that his distant future descendants might decide to pick up and give to one of mine, it was a fun thought! I initially contacted you after I had done the water test (which it passed!). I followed through and put the acorn in moist soil and placed it in the refrigerator...and then I moved and it was in a family member's refrigerator...until today! I feel so guilty because I forgot to plant it in the winter, but I notice that it is now brown and has sprouted, with a small root in the refrigerated soil (about an inch and a half long). Is there hope for this tree? It seems to have a sort of Aristotelian ambition, all its own! I would appreciate any professional advice you might offer at this time. Thank you. (I did try to be brief...but it's not always in my nature!)

Hi Michelle, That is quite an incredible story- thanks for sharing! Truly awesome and it seems like the tree is already looking to take root. You can definitely plant the tree in a small pot- being sure not to break or damage to root. You can plant the acorn by putting a finger into the soil and letting the acorn sit on top of the soil. Some light watering in a semi shaded area will be a good start! Quite amazing and looking forward to hearing an update. Please feel free to message me more for info! Thanks for watching JJ84.

Fantastic video! I'm here in an indirect way. Went to see about a job in a distant city. After that I went for a walk and was admiring the oak trees. I gathered up a handful for my own woods. The water test is a handy bit of information and I will continue utilize it. I'm reminded of a scene from the Jules Verne story "The Mysterious Island" which is about a small group of castaways who end up surviving and thriving although they are disconnected from the mainland. After 2 or 3 years, one character finds a single kernel of corn that was hidden deep in his jacket. He plants it and cares for it grows exponentially as the years go by.

Phillip S Love Jules Verne's The Mysterious Island, thank you so much for connecting. It truly is remarkable how nature can captivate and intrigue our senses. Pulling us away from our daily routines and activating out senses and interests. Trees are truly more a part of our life than we can appreciate and know. Thank you for finding the channel and connecting with all of us! I am hoping your Oak trees grow in a place that will bring you happiness and love for many years to come! Thank you! JJ
