In this video I'll take you through the entire process and my mindset for painting this beautiful mockingbird in a magnolia tree. I painted this commission in a realistic style using acrylic paint on a wood panel. I talk about my process of combining my own photography with imagery found online as under the creative commons license. See details and attribution below. I share all the steps of painting the image as well as details on adding an isolation coat, varnishing and framing the work. In addition I share my thoughts on how realistic painting is influencing my overall style and how I'm planning to blend this style with my more abstract paintings moving forward. Hope you enjoy.
