I was short of money, so I only bought the primary acrylic colours (as I've heard that they can be used to create any colour)...and this video just gave me the confidence I needed

I'm watching it now and it's giving me soooo much confidence. I'm starting life over after spending 7 years taking care of my mom. She has a brain injury. I have learned so much taking care of her, including to go after what makes me happy and not to change for others, but just be myself. So I'm doing me! Art is me! It has been since I was school. Probably should have gone to set school, but I didn't so I am now via KZfaq! Lol! Thanks again for the vid!

Thank you for this video. I've been teaching myself to paint, but have had way too much trouble mixing colors. (I'm an expert at making mud brown.) This video finally explained everything in a way I could understand, and the video was simple & well done. The skin tones section will help me tremendously.

Starting off with a set is a really great idea if you want to jump right in and not get stuck on colors. That's how I got started! You can always learn to mix later. :)

Still learning & use that smaller color wheel as mixing colors is very interesting & like the ones that have color key code (letters & #’s) of which colors where used to make say (Viridian green) & gives you opacity ratings. Ty for this video as used to shade w black but now will use a dark purple!

What are you using for your pallet and how do you mix enough color to use consistently in a painting? I find myself mixing a color then running short and when I mix more the color isn’t the same. Or, when I do mix enough, it starts to dry out while I’m paining.

I mix bright green and cadmium red yellow ochre and white titanium for skin colour. Some people has under tones of purple or royal blue in their skin too. 👩🏾‍🎨
