You share so much of your knowledge with us. It is so refreshing to find a group of people who are willing to see their knowledge and to collaborate with techniques and ideas as opposed to simply hoarding their ideas to themselves for fear that someone might “take their idea“. I understand that some equate what you’re doing to “working for free“ because you’re sharing your techniques with us. I, have been a textile artist for many years. Actually, you call me a mixed media artist because I work with any type of medium I can find it right down to dirt! LOL! I feel if it catches Mayeye it could be hard. And I have never once send someone away from me when they ask a question on how I do something for fear that they might try to do it themselves and take my idea. Instead, I will always, always get excited to share what I know,And learn from them as well. Thank you, thank you, thank you for all of your experiments, your trials and tribulations, and your gorgeous, gorgeous successes!

I love it. Please continue, it saves us wasting time and money, it also helps with making good decisions. I don’t care for silicone too much trouble for me. Softer less defined maybe. Then again I’m not all about cells. I’m wondering how this would work with the tri-art liquid glass, it’s supposed to give you cells that keep their shape.

Thank you! I don't know why, but I just don't have luck with nice cells when work with any type of pouring medium. I guess it's about finding right proportions and also practice practice practice 😊

Smart Art Materials - Acrylic Pouring & Painting oh I’ve got painted trash cans full of scraped off paint. I don’t like the mediums. Tried glue it left the surface strange and later it peeled off, same with the liquitex pouring medium. It was strange they both crazed so I tried cleaning them to re-pour. The glue came off in a terrible way, threw one canvas away. The liquitex peeled off it took on the texture of the canvas. I prefer floetrol and a small amount of water. It wasn’t my mixture I was careful about amounts. I got cracking if they dried too fast, the humidity was too low. I believe it’s because no matter what the pour is putting down layers thicker than intended to be. I’m still struggling. I have some that work many that don’t. Metallics can be tricky. Going to try the soap.

@OlgaSoby
@OlgaSoby 4 жыл бұрын
So many questions so little answers haha 😃 Well I might have some answers. So I tried cleaning one I did last week: there were no oily spots or anything like that, it didn't feel oily to touch either. I'm not sure why cause I used a lot of soap!🤔 So I just wiped it with a wet paper towel, NO pigment came off (although normally I like to wait longer before cleaning). I will test-varnish it with brush today, but I'm sure that spray varnish will work either way. Og yes, and I will share dry results on my page on Facebook facebook.com/olga.soby.art/

Great experiments! Instead of the spray bottle, you might try dipping an old tooth brush or nail brush in the soap, and combing with a stick to get a splatter effect. That might give you bigger cells. Also it might enable you to use a more concentrated soap solution that would be too thick for a spray bottle.

Also, I don’t always use floetrol because of the price, but today I had a pleasant surprise, I poured over some rocks, using floetrol, applied the torch and got more cells than I’ve ever had. @lisaclarke5191
@lisaclarke5191 Ай бұрын
it was probably too much dish soap. I've used dish soap quite a few times, and even a drop too much will turn your paints to mud, because it works by breaking down the paint. I found the best dish soap results by not adding much at all to the paint (like literally One drop!) and then use watered down dish soap and a toothbrush to splatter a bit onto the paint, after it spreads over the canvas. Don't know if this helps! 🫶🎨 Best of luck with this! Try experimenting with slightly different recipes, any results you don't love can be rinsed off your canvas! 💁😉

Holy cow! I am so glad you made this video! I love that with the flip cup the cells are irregular. And I really like the effect from the dropper. It looks a bit like marigolds to me. Thanks for all the videos!

Oh My Gosh!!😲 Again, your choice of colours is fabulous. My favourite is the fractal version, definitely! I did see someone do these with alcahol and I think the results are spectacular, so unique! Tyfs.C😉👏🐾🐾

They are all so different and all so very beautiful. So cool that you can use dish soap to make beautiful works of art. My favorite is the one that you just dropped the soap mixture on. Reminded me of flowers.

I liked each one with the technique you use. I like the second one. I could see that for underwater or in fire colors. The last one reminded me of flowers definitely. Thanks for showing your techniques.
