Getting ideas for fish enrichment. My all my fish get daily interactions and chase my finger then fed. I always spread the food out and put it below the surface so it sinks and they have to explore to get everything. Most of my fiah get live plants other then my goldfish because thwy destroy every plants and eat almost all plants. I do give them extra plants from my other tanks to eat and destory as enrichment. All fish get a variety of foods and types (flakes, pellets, frozen, gel and live worms). Also hides and places to swim through. But i wanted some out of the box extra enrichment. So im getting ping pong balls for them to push around. Waffle balls that i can put food in so they have to roll it around. Worm deapensers (for frozen foods they have to poke it or wait for aome worms to fall out). Zoo med floating turtle feeder (its large so my goldfish will get that one) Silicone bath toy fidget spinner . Suctions on and they can push it around 😂 veggie clips and also marine grazer gadget (holds seaweed with only small holes visablw to peck at thought it would be good for gel foods, leafy veggies ) Also rubber duckies Also maybe those zoo med mirrors for bettas for bettas who can't live in community tanks. I'm talking about a few minutes once in a blue moon and the zoo med mirrors they can push so they defect their enemy who goes away ? These will be novel enrichment as it will only be left in tanks for short periods of time and rotated out between tanks

I like your idea, any animal that is either fully or partially arboreal would benefit from climbing surfaces, different textures etc, also it works the muscles .

I’ve been trying to find a good tree tutorial for an enrichment tree for my Brazilian rainbow boa so she has more climbing activity. I think this is really cool!

That’s such a smart idea! I wonder if there’s other enriching things for snakes. There probably is but I haven’t seen anything on it before. Time to do some research! Your gecko looks so cute and healthy :)

Very interesting. I've never seen anyone do something like this with a gecko. I currently have two baby crested geckos that I am raising up. They currently are both kept in (separate) fairly simple bin enclosure. The bin are quite large and I try to switch out their cork and fake plants to give them new experiences. I handle them quite regularly so that they'll hopefully be super tame as adults. I sometimes set up some cork out side of their enclosure and let them climb around on it, but nothing like what you have. I would definitely love to see how they would react to something like this!

If you ever try it let me know! I’m quite lucky with Frank as he was a rescue, so he was already a full grown adult with a disposition that I already knew was calm and friendly. I haven’t done any taming or training, he just is naturally inquisitive and enjoys interacting ☺️ Babies would take a lot longer I imagine to grow to a safe size and ensure they’re confident

@@jadesjungle that's really nice to have already known what Frank was like. Both of my geckos are pretty chill, but being babies, they definitely jump a lot. They'll jump on to me and typically don't try to run away, but as of right now, I wouldn't trust them on something like the enrichment tree unless I was hovering over them making sure they didn't bolt. I'll definitely try it in 6 months-a year when they are bigger and let you know how it goes! They are currently only around 7g and 5g, so they are quite small. I've had the 7g one longer and he is quite comfortable with me and will come out of his enclosure to hang out with me, but the 5g one isn't quite as friendly, but is very chill once I get her out. To be fair though, I had to handle the 7g one very often because he was a very slow grower and needed to be fed by a syringe to put on any wait (dropping a tiny bit near his mouth and allowing him to lick it up, never force feeding him). Now I think he sees me as a source of food which is why he so readily comes out to me.
