Then we will be installing the new throw-out bearing and flywheel pilot bearing along with the OEM pressure plate and clutch disc. by using a special Honda clutch alignment tool. Finally we will be reinstalling the manual transmission. As always, tips and tricks come standard.
OEM Part List and Number:
Clutch Pressure Plate and Disc Assembly: 22105-RDB-315
Flywheel Pilot Bearing: 91006-PGE-008
Release Bearing: 22810-PPT-003
Release Folk Boot: 22841-PPP-000
Rear Main Seal: 91214-RCA-A01
Rear Main Cover O-Ring: 91308-P3R-T01
On the next Part 3 episode, we will be working on the leaking power steering system by rebuilding the power steering rack and pump. Lastly, we will be also cleaning the engine subframe and it came out like brand new. Stay tuned for next week.

Watching you folks fit a new clutch in Brian's car made me think when I used to do it with just a pair of ramps that raise the front wheels, my car was an old 80's Ford Cortina RWD so the box was huge and heavy laying on your back trying to disengage the prop shaft from the rear of the gearbox and the gearbox shaft from the clutch housing, all I had was a shaved down broom handle to realign the clutch to the pressure plate, those were the good old days. These days I take it to a garage 😂 John UK.

LOVE these videos! I've not found anything really going through a rear main seal repair. I may need to chase this on my 05 RL. Food for thought, videos with anything on RL since they are less common but so much potential. Also I have an TL in addition to the RL and evaluating a supercharger for one of them. Would LOVE to see something on superchargers on J-series to help me decide if/where to put one on. I love my SH-AWD but really want some more torque. Supporting you guys fo sho!

Hi AHC garage, quick question regarding the self adjusting clutch tool. Did your team happen to adjust the clutch with the tool? Or did your clutch arrive pre-set/locked at the required specs?

Do you guys have any experience using BG product additives for engine performance, motor oil, ATF, and or fuel cleaner? Of course, when used in conjunction with genuine Honda/Acura fluids. And what is the best (suggested) online OEM parts supplier for Acura?
@ahcgarage
@ahcgarage 4 жыл бұрын
This is a tough question since everyone will have their own views. As for any additives, Acura and Honda do not recommend them in any of their vehicle at all. Due to the increase ethanol level in fuel, we do see some increases of carbon build up in the combustion chamber. Some mild induction products and fuel additive can help to clean out the carbon build up.

Great Job Guys. I"ve watched this video about 5 times already trying to build my confident in changing the clutch on my TL. I have 1 question. Did you guys change the flywheel bolts and did you guys put the red loctite on the bolts? I read some forums and everyone has different opinions on it. Some say to change out the bolts and some say you don't have to change it, just put some red loctite and it should be ok. What did you guys do?
@ahcgarage
@ahcgarage 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and support. The bolts are reusable. A small amount of lock loctite can ensure the flywheel bolts not back out.
@supersabrosinho
@supersabrosinho 3 жыл бұрын
Just like you I'm also debating doing this job myself on my 4th gen SH-AWD 6MT. I also had some anxiety cuz all info online said that Loctite is required. For example, all forums swear that if you don't put Loctite on the propeller shaft bolts it will loosen and pole vault your car into the next highway. I just torqued my propeller shaft bolts (reused) and so far no pole vaulting. Let me know how your clutch job went 👍

2 question for you guy. 1. Any reason why you guy reuse the flywheel without resurface or replace the flywheel? 2. I though the pressure plate will need to be set to the max point, where the small spring should be below the green mark, since this pressure plate is adjustable. Thanks for th video as my previous owner already perform this service on my KBP.
@ahcgarage
@ahcgarage 4 жыл бұрын
1. The original flywheel is within the service limit so after we checked it with feeler gauge so there’s no needs for resurfacing or replacement. Beside, a new dual-mass flywheel is a very expensive item. 2. We left the spring at the same position on the pressure plate Thanks for your support 👍🏼

How do you get the pressure plate on without loosing the SAC adjustment? A shop did my clutch, and it engages right off the floor. There is nearly no travel. You feel it start to catch, and it's fully engaged. My throw out bearing is already shot because it must have never fully released. The garage wants to brush me off.
