The new Acura NSX is a modern take on the icon that revolutionized the supercar market. The original was comfortable, easy to drive, well made and has turned out to be highly collectable. Acura has brought back the NSX but this time packed it with all kinds of technology to not only make it a fast and powerful supercar but also a car that is easy to drive every day. Powering the all-new Acura NSX is a mid-engine 3.5L V6 matched to an electric motor for 500hp of output. The front wheels also get two independent electric motors that drive each front wheel. These two motors put out 73hp, for a total output of 573hp. The front motors provide power to each wheel but can also create drag on the inside wheel when cornering to help pivot the car through the corner. This is a very quick car and the 9-speed dual clutch automatic matched to the 3.5L twin turbo V6 is very quick. The driver can drive in quiet mode for relaxed city driving but when sport and sport plus setting are activated, this Acura NSX is a real performer. The Acura NSX can be equipped with a carbon appearance package on the outside that includes carbon fibre front spoiler, side skirts and rear defuser. In addition the Acura NSX can be equipped with a carbon roof, rear spoiler and ceramic brakes.

I think it's well rated, just unsold. In BC, where this test drive was done, you can tack on another 25% tax. 20% PST in this price bracket and 5% GST. So a $227,000 car turns into a $283,750 car. That's a tough sell for a Honda. Buy and register in Alberta and save $45k.

I think the problem is it's just too expensive. Every Honda enthusiast, like myself, can't even come close to affording this car and we're the only ones that want it. My own uncle bought a 2019 GT3 RS over this. I prefer he bought this NSX but the Porsche was a smarter buy.

One point of correction... The assertion @ 3:06 is untrue. The engine in the new NSX is not the “same one you get in the MDX.” All other current V6 Acura vehicles are equipped with variants of Honda’s J35 engine line as they are all SOHC motors with VTEC (Variable Valve Timing and Electronic Lift Control). The NSX however, is equipped with a Cosworth block & heads of a DOHC, non-VTEC design. Acura intended to push the design hard on the track (GT3 Racing) and decided to use the readily-available and robust Cosworth racing components. Also, I recall reading a pre-release on the NSX Type R, where HP is to increase to ~ 640...not sure how much of those gains come from increases in the electric motors output. Presently, ‘Science of Speed’ Co., offers a couple of affordable, quality aftermarket bolt-ons bringing the current production NSX up to ~700 hp.

I had one and can confirm this thing is easily daily drivable. That and the Bmw i8. Not only is it comfortable for a super car and easy to drive, you also won't get the insane crowd of kids going nut everywhere you stop like with a Lambo or Ferrari, and this is one of the aspect of driving a supercar that becomes old quick even if you like to share the passion. It still get plenty of attention though so if you want to be left alone go for a 911 Turbo S or Audi R8, something like that, nobody care about them.

Great video. The NSX is underrated and unfortunately underappreciated. People are constantly comparing it to other cars and complaining about the price but aren't willing to understand that this vehicle is an innovation in automotive technology. Yes there are cars that have similar performance figures...but are they as comfortable? Are they as fuel efficient? Are they as dependable/reliable? I understand that this generation is dramatically different from it's predecessor but people need to learn to put their nostalgic bias to the side and try to appreciate this car for what it is. I can personally tell you that that this car is a great vehicle and looks better in person and is extremely comfortable.

@@85corolla SMH. The point of that comment was to emphasize a "perk" that it's has over it's rivals. Most people who have driven exotic cars will tell you that they usual aren't so comfortable...but you don't buy them for comfort...right? But if you could get comfort and the performance why wouldn't you? The whole entire concept of the NSX (both generations) was to combine "similar" exotic performance (speed, handling, etc) and everyday usability (which entails comfort, reliability and yes even fuel economy). So to your point most people who can afford high performance vehicles are aware of the "sacrifices" that come with these vehicles but I highly doubt they are opposed to getting more milage out of there cars. But hey...to each his or her own.

The problem here is pricing. It's a nice super car and I like the exterior, although I find the rear a bit underwhelming. The interior is OK, but not special enough. So, back to pricing. In order to sell, the NSX has to be considerably cheaper than an R8, and it's not. Most drivers would rather have a naturally aspirated v10, that makes all the right noises, rather than a v6 with a bunch of gizmos. If I had all the money in the world I would still get it, but if I had to choose, then I would go with the R8.

Also, aren't you commenting on almost every nsx related videos and arguing with everyone that says negative things about it? 😐 Why are you doing this? 🤨

Radio/AC with knobs is needed. A standard gear shift is needed and a manual option, even a digital one. upgraded the small screens infotainment and istrument cluster with Mercedes, Audi, Cadillac Escalade level instruments. HUD is needed, take away the cheap plastics and gray trim, it really cheaps the interior, on the outside not bad, but more attention to detail in the lights front and rear and grill. Otherwise great. Improve the motors and their power, should be able to get 30 in the city with this in normal quiet mode and on the highway with more battery power and range. Update the engine to 550 hp/450 torque even without the electric motors. Upgrade the launch control from 2500 to 4500 to get down to 2.2 o-60.

at 6:23, you talk about brake feel and the most amazing thing is this: It's all fake! This is a brake by wire car. But the feel is incredibly precise and devoid of 'hybrid' weirdness. Only some of the sounds and vibration convey the mixed-mode (friction + regen) of the system. That is one of the most impressive things about this car. Especially when scrubbing off 100Mph into turn one at my local race track. There is a mechanical fail-safe behind it, but this brake by wire system is one of the best on the planet. I wish my racing SIMs could do half as good.

All the dealers will option them up 80k to 95k. Plus, the vette is no exotic super car. My SEIKO Spring Drive SNR005 is 15 Years old requires absolutely zero maintenance and still stays accurate to +\- 2 seconds per month. I got very frustrated with Rolex and Omega because they are very expensive, require expensive maintenance and don’t run very accurately even they are Chronometer Official Certified but still vary anywhere between 4-6 seconds per DAY, yuck!🤢 My SEIKO Kinetic Auto Relay SMA033 water resistance to 200M (660 ft) has been running accurately for 21 years without any issue and zero maintenance because it has a tiny AC alternator that charges the lithium ion cell via AC to DC converter circuit. Slightest wrist movements will create energy to charge the power cell. I’m storage, the watch goes to sleep mode to conserve energy up to 4 years and would wake up when detects movements and resume current time. Swiss watches are overrated, overpriced and they are very sheety 🤢 My ultimate dream SEIKO is the CREDOR MINUTE REPEATER SPRING DRIVE GBLS998. it isn’t cheap but it’s worth every penny.
