President of Tatarstan Mintemir Shaimiev also ate katyk, which this modest woman has been preparing for 70 years. She started as a girl, but religiously follows her recipe even in old age. She talks about her life and it’s hard to believe that this small, dry woman carried 50 kg of katyk cans on a yoke seven kilometers to the station to take to Kazan for sale.
She survived, saved her family, lives in a dignified old age thanks to her daily work.
Not only Tatar cuisine rests on such people. The whole world rests on the shoulders of rural workers. What would we eat without such people?
