Hi, I was born in Mexico City and I have lived and worked as an English teacher here all my life. And I can say that everything in this video is true, it's real. I really liked how respectful you were, not criticising my city in a bad way, but being very respectful and yeah, as a local I can confirm the info you have given us which is great. Mexico City is not for everybody. However, we will receive you all with wide arms open. (correct me please if I made any mistakes in English) great video!

When we mexicans are in USA, we must work very very hard to survive there. Yes, you can make More money than in México, but it's not a piece of cake. So if you don't want to become stressed do not move there. Specially if you are lazy. Life Is much More relaxed in México than in USA. If you like freedom don't go to USA because there's a lot of racism there. People see you in a bad way, if you aren't white.A lot of fights among blacks and whites. If you don't work very hard (2 or 3 jobs ) you Will have to live in an old apartment full of rouches. Etc, etc, etc.I'm Mexican, but i lived in USA some years. Living in México Is much More relaxed, and you can enjoy life much much better . To finish, in USA Many people do not have Time or money to have a picnic on a weekend. In México a lot of People go out on weekends. Mexicans enjoy More our lives. With all respect.

Last night I put Mexico City at the top of the list to relocate to in a few months, putting my top choices of Spain and Portugal behind and this video is breaking my heart 😥. I need to be around culture, accessible transit, affordability, stable internet, excellent weather, great food and CDMX ticked all the boxes but dammit I want my peace and quiet back! I can no longer keep my windows open in Toronto because of the never ending construction and traffic. To me there is "energy" like Barcelona La Rambla crowd which I can do all day then there is "noise" like Toronto where it's construction and noisy traffic all day and traffic with loud modified engines all night. We have been in lockdown for 16 months now, I want my freedom!!🤣 is the noise as bad or worse then Toronto/NYC noise or is it tolerable? Can I go to a Cafe and relax or is it like Toronto where the music is blasted so loud in cafés you can't even hear the person sitting in front of you??

Funny you mention Houston; I was thinking of moving BACK there from Denver where I currently reside (I went to junior high there in Alief and lived there again in 2017). It's very diverse and cultured and was going to make that my new "home base" as I make plans to jump off and maybe spend a few months in CDMX and then start bee-boppin' around to other cities every few months. I feel the same way about Houston as I do about Mexico City-a very underrated place with great food, people, museums, world class stuff, etc-but that humidity, tho! Good to know about the thin walls in the apartments-my assumption is that they would be thick and quiet due to the earthquake risk. I cannot stand to hear people walking and stomping above me in apartments-do you know if newer construction places are better with the sound insulation?
