@TheStonesSing I'm sure Adam Driver would do a creditable job of screenwriting on the topic, should it interest him. And I'm sure the training he went through as a Marine would help him in that. But there's a big difference between what you learn in training, and what you experience in combat. Nothing in training prepares you for the sights, sounds and smells of combat. That's just my opinion, but I served in combat in Vietnam in 1968-69. While training did teach me alot about the mechanics of the job and the importance of teamwork, combat was a whole other thing.

He explicitly said he wasn't interested in directing or screenwriting, and avoided doing it when given the opportunity (he was asks to participate to the writing process for SNL and refused to do it). He was also in Silence, and although it's not a war movie, it has a lot if common with one thematically, if you're interested in seeing him in one you could try watching it :) For the Oscar, I think he deserves one for Annette, we can only wait for February to see what happens.

@@Afrimusican it tells the story of the last sanctioned duel in France. While historical it feels very relevant to modern day. Without giving anything away, the initial conflict starts small between 2 noblemen and it escalates to a duel to the death. Ridley Scott uses the Rashamon style of telling the story from multiple points of view with vastly different perceptions from each character. Ultimately I think it triumphs by telling a story that feels like it could happen today but set centuries ago and isn't too preachy or in your face.

Here are some ways to connect Adam to Kevin Bacon: 1. Adam Driver was in Star Wars: The Force Awakens with Harrison Ford, who was in The Fugitive with Tommy Lee Jones, who was in JFK with Kevin Bacon. 2. Adam Driver was in Marriage Story with Scarlett Johansson, who was in Lost in Translation with Bill Murray, who was in Wild Things with Kevin Bacon. 3. Adam Driver was in The Last Duel with Matt Damon, who was in Saving Private Ryan with Tom Hanks, who was in Apollo 13 with Kevin Bacon. There might be others, but those are just 3.

Adam might not be the most handsome actor in Hollywood, but he's one of the most talented ones. Furthermore, I've been a huge fan of his since I saw him on the serie GIRLS and while seeing him on that serie, I always said; "that guy has a huge future". To my surprise, I wasn't that wrong, so I wish I could see Adam and Gaga to star in more movies together. Thus, I actually liked House of Gucci.
