Adam, I love your Cymbal Sound. It's just wonderful. From the very first moment I heard you play, sitting next to your Hi-Hat at the WDR Big Band years ago, I felt inspired by your legato sound. Maybe, that's why I love rivets too - anyway, what makes every cymbal I heard you play in years sound so great is you playing it. Thanks!

I went to PASIC around 15 years ago with the intention of buying a new crash cymbal. But every day I played the Beautiful Baby ride at the Columbus Percussion booth. On the last day I said "I'll take the Beautiful Baby." They were going to get one from their stock, but I said "no, I want THAT one that's on the stand." It's great for jazz, rock, and big band. It's still one of my 3 favorite cymbals.

If you place the rivets more towards the bell, it’ll still sizzle but for not as long?- less sustain?

Drummers put so much thought and effort into their Cymbals. But the audience doesn’t hear the difference 10 feet in front of the band stand…

Why not just drape a small chain on top before drilling permanent holes into something expensive?

Because chains look awful. Chains do they job but rivets are not visible

They also sound different since chains can bounce around and are not always in contact with the metal

@@KaiOwensDrums Whenever I want a sizzle ride sound that's mostly created by rivets I take a 2 or 5cent piece and tape it a little above the mids of a ride in a way that it can bounce. That does the sizzle job for me. Try it out!
