Adam unveils his new shop workbench made over the past few months by engineer and woodworker Andrew Klein. Andrew delivered and installed the workbench while Adam was recently traveling, and Adam films his first reaction to seeing this gorgeous workbench in the cave and testing its features! We also get Andrew on the line to talk about its integrated functionality, including a surprise implementation of Adam's LED bench light!
Andrew has listed all the elements he used in building Adam's workbench, along with links where to purchase them, here: www.in-kleind.com/adam-savage...

So cool watching this little piece of history go down, Andrew creating a master piece, for the legend Adam Savage! Everyone: Y NO SHOUTOUT TO MATT CREMONA Come on guys, it’s a casual friendly zoom call conversation. Just because it’s between high profile individuals doesn’t mean you should take every opportunity to sound like you’re trying to sell or promote something/someone. This was a casual conversation between two guys discussing on a workbench one made and the other is happy to receive, that so happens to get uploaded on a prominent channel. Do you like talking to someone who keeps talking about where he got his shoes or who made his shirt every 5 minutes? I’m sure Andrew would have given Matt a shoutout if he knew Adam better personally but this is their first time talking to each other live and it’s as clean as it gets without any script. Giving a shoutout to someone else on the channel of a person you’re literally talking to for the first time unscripted and perhaps wasn’t even expecting this video to be uploaded then is just too weird and frankly rude. I can see many of those who complained about this are mainly woodworking fans who are already familiar with this craft and obviously who the prominent players are but keep in mind this channel is not a woodworking-focused channel so don’t expect to have the same interaction and experience as you would from your usual channel.

I have such an appreciation for passion and quality beyond a simple ooh and ahh when it comes to any sort of work, but this is above and beyond. quite possibly the nicest bench I have ever seen. thank you for sharing.

MATT CREMONA!!! What a wasted opportunity to plug a “friend’s” channel/business/craftsmanship! For those of you who don’t know, Matt Cremona is the magician behind the monolithic slabs, as they’re referred to in the video. If you want to know anything from traditional fine woodworking skills right down to the science of the materials (i.e. lumber) used, then Matt Cremona is a great channel to check out.

I've never been jealous of a bench before ... that thing is a beautiful work of art and utility. Love seeing Adam's excitement for, well what seems like, everything. It is SO refreshing.

The best thing about a good workbench is it makes your existing tools work SO MUCH BETTER. Planing, sawing, chiseling even knocking things together with a hammer are way more efficient on a heavy workbench with a strong stable vice.

I was concerned when I saw how precise the vises looked, since I'd recently watched a Rex Krueger video on how a perfectly parallel vise can make it difficult to hold certain objects (so obviously I'm an expert now)...and then 6:49.

Truly a masterpiece of a workbench. Love how the woodworking combined with machinery of parts. The Logistics in how it works is all done beautifully. I’m in the process of re-making a work bench and this gave some great design ideas. Granted I will not get it completed to this level of crafting but inspirational to try.

I've been following Andrew's build, and really anticipating this reveal, both for the fully-finished bench and especially Adam's reaction. The Zoom call was just awesome icing on the cake - what a study in contrasts: two entirely different guys - one short-spoken kinda zen and the other ebullient and high-energy - and yet they are both awesome makers. Congrats to Andrew for a phenomenal example of (highly) functional art and craftsmanship and to Adam for the opportunities and experiences that will be fostered by the new bench. Looking forward to watching both channels!! (and I'd also say to the leader(s) at Magswitch: really, really smart hire)

Please do a full in depth video of it's construction and all it's design features- it's gorgeous!! You are one lucky guy. Congratulations to both of you. I wish I could get one here in the UK!
