As basketball fans, we are very lucky to have Adam silver. He may not always get it right, but he’s willing to try new things which is great for the game long term.

That would be cool to see them wear their actual teams jerseys with the all star patch on it again like they did in the late 90s and early 2000s 🔥

It’s gonna take time for people to realize it but I think the changes Silver is implementing now are huge and will benefit the league.

I liked the old NBA All-Star Game better. The NBA All-Star Game from the 1950s to the 2000s was a serious game.

East vs West jerseys but the warm ups should be their actual team so in warmups you can still see the individuality and rep of their team org

I actually like Silver, he makes a lot of sense in general and seems like a really proactive ship captain.

I think what's been missing from a competitive All-Star game are those ultra competitive guys who set the tone of going to go out there from the jump and snatch this game away from the other team no matter what. They didn't care about playing nice with the other players or looking like a try hard or getting hurt. It used to me guys like Magic and Bird, then it was Jordan and then it was Kobe. There's no one like that in the league today.

Jokić being picked last in the All-Star game, shows that the league does not promote the skills most basketball players throughout the world consider valuable. Simply put …Failing to promote him is failing to promote great basketball.

They should give the winning conference a couple more home games next year compared to the other conference and you will have players actually try to win the game.

NBA should do an all star game based on their home (e.g. East vs West, but based on where they were born or raised - overseas players can join the conference they played in first). In Australia we have state of origin - which is basically two states against each other with a lot of pride involved. It is BIGGER and MORE competitive than the regular games...

They should have also kept the draft by having 1st and 2nd all nba teams during the season decide whether they rank as such. Where players in the top 2 in mvp voting will have to be in the opposite team when they decide the positions. With the winner of the all star game getting a significant vote when deciding who wins the accolades at the end of the year

there has to be a respect of the game from the players. I understand there's a lot of sponsorship and league events during all star weekend, but the players should respect the game and the fans enough to care to compete for 48 minutes at an all star game. The players can blame the concerts and intros but they'll find a way to stop caring again within 3 years regardless of what the format is - and then they'll find another excuse why they don't play hard

They need to curate contracts to coincide with accolades such as mvps, first or second team pay outs with all star performance, where a player loses a percentage of their contract if they lose in the all star game or miss out due to injury. Reward the players that actually play in the game.

Its very simple, for both the All Star game and the in season tournament, for those things to matter they have to have a disproportionate effect on the post season. What is the ultimate goal of every team? Win a chip. In order to make players take these games seriously in a forest of 82 games you have to motivate them by some sort of playoff gain if they win. The winner of the conference that wins the All Star game get’s +5 wins when the finals matchup is decided i.e. if the west won the All Star game and for ex the Nuggets were 55-27 and are playing Boston who is 59-23, Nuggets have home court advantage. Winner of the in season tournament can chose 1 series in the playoffs where they would not have home court advantage, to have home court advantage. You’re welcome NBA

Look, I’m not too familiar with the BIG 3s and the NBAs rules and legality between the 3v3 play; but I would love for the NBA to bring in a 3v3 pick up tournament instead of the pick up selection style for the main event. And with that I would love for the league to bring back the traditional East v West. A pick up 3v3 style could be an event for the fans to select the flashiest or most entertaining players that might not be good enough for a All Star Selection. And it would could be a group of 4 teams with a roster of 3 players and a bench sub. Would love to hear what others think of this

I think Adam Silver has done a great job as commissioner. I think many fans are lazy and don’t want to consume the product. I think the best way the in season tournament in the nba be successful is the winner of the tournament will get the number one pick of the coming nba draft after then team will be serious of the tournament and no team will ever tank again. Or maybe the winner will get one of the top three picks.

There have been players who have feigned injuries to avoid doing all-star weekend altogether. The players probably don’t want to risk injury during their only chance to get a midseason break.

Make the all star weekend a 6 team tournament, 24 minute matches

I didn't mind the draft stuff, but I think it hurt the jerseys. The jerseys during that stint were so plain, partly because Nike jersey designs just haven't been that great & because it just says "NBA Allstar" on the front, since there were no East or West, so they reminded me of generic NBA jersey you'd find at Walmart or Target or something. The Target score hurt the game too, there was like one good year with the target score, but even then, that year it ended on anti-climatic freethrows. I'm glad they're cancelling that.

The problem with all star weekend are the players and them not wanting to really play and participate in the weekend….

What they should do is make it a pick-up tourney. 24 all-stars. 8 teams of 3. Play 3 on 3 half court with 1 and 2 pointers. First to 11 or max 15 minutes. Run two games at once on each end of the court until the last round. It would take 60 minutes of actual game time. Make the dollars somewhat large. Winning team gets $2M per player, 2nd place team gets $1M per player. $0 for everyone else.

The in season tournament is a good experiment but it doesn't move the needle for fans. Adam Silver should create a champions league tournament instead of preseason, where the NBA Invites champion caliber teams from around the world. You solve the problem of no one watching the preseason and gain more interest globally, teams are incentives by selling tickets and jerseys earlier
