After a magical time in Mana Pools National Park, we check in at our next destination: Rhino Safari Camp located on Lake Kariba.
Traveling from Mana Pools National Park to Rhino Safari Camp
After numerous warnings to avoid the roads leading into Matusadona National Park, we make the tough decision to leave our Land Cruiser Prado behind. After a three hour drive from Mana Pools to the town of Kariba (a great place to grab some lunch and basic supplies), we board a small boat to transfer to Rhino Island.
About Rhino Safari Camp
Rhino Safari Camp is an intimate, traditional bush camp nestled along the shoreline of Lake Kariba at the north-western end of the Matusadona National Park. It is owner operated, small (14 beds only) and (rightfully so) highly acclaimed for its friendly, personalised hosting. We were received with open arms by Jenny (owner), Karl (our professional guide) and the rest of the RSC team.
Room - 1 at Rhino Safari Camp
Like something from a dream, our room is a twin-bedded, open-fronted, en-suite bedroom chalet, raised on Tonga-Style stilted platforms and overlooking the shoreline. The camp is unfenced and wildlife moves freely between the chalets along well used game trails.
